I totally agree. I help short little old ladies in the grocery store all the time. Nothing racist about it. I've read labels for them as well (they forgot their reading glasses). I will agree that the supposed valet/waiter story that BO spins would be racist, but for short people to ask taller people to grab something off of a store shelf isn't racist. It's just common sense. MO is about my height in flats (according to the internet), at 5'11".

I'm short. I regularly ask for help in reaching or lifting things into my cart (25 lbs of dog food, for example). I pick sturdy men and ask them nicely if they would mind helping, and when they say they're happy to help, I jokingly say something like, "are you sure you don't have back problems?", or something equally chatty. If it's something too high on the shelf, I would ask any tall person for help, man or woman, black or white (or whatever).

Never in my wildest imagination did I wonder if asking a black person would deem me racist. I look for big and strong, not black and strong.

    Lord, she's pathetic!

45 days ago, America told the Obama's that they've had quite enough of their (*)(*)(*)(*). I'm surprised it's taken them this long to trot out the victim card.

Wow, so the FLOTUS feels the sting of rampant racism so often that she has to make up a lie to come up with an example? Surely, she would be able to come up with an actual example of the pervasive racism she was subjected to from some time in her past, wouldn't she?

This actually gives me hope that actual, real racism is dieing, and verifies my suspicion that "racism" has evolved from a widespread societal problem to merely being a tool of the media and the left to keep alive the divisiveness they depend upon to continue to be relevant.

This thread is hilarious. Not once in that K-Mart story did Michelle Obama refer to racism, or even remotely allude to it.

But haters gotta hate -- even if it's creating involved, drawn out stories of things that never happened.

So what was the article about? I can't get the link to work?

Moochell is mistaking the reason that people look away from her as racism when they just don't like to look at ugly people with a frown on their face..

It's about her being in K Mart and somebody not recognizing her as the First Lady.

I was wondering if I missed something. Where is the racism in a tale about having to get something off a higher shelf for someone?
I actually don't see what her point was (is she complaining because she is taller than other people) but unless I totally missed out
    I'm not seeing racism there.

Because there isn't and she wasn't referring to racism whatsoever. This is just a right-wing lie.

She's probably just pandering to her base.

"Hey, I shop at K-Mart too! The Obama's really understand me!"

It is very racist NOT to recognize the First Lady. Was she white, she'd be instantly recognized.

Obama said. "It's one thing for me to be mistaken for a waiter at a gala. It's another thing for my son to be mistaken for a robber and to be handcuffed, or worse, if he happens to be walking down the street and is dressed the way teenagers dress."

So Barry does have son that is often mistaken for a Little Trayvon thug.. Maybe getting to know his baby daddy will straighten Barry Jr. out but I doubt it.

The bottom line here is that Moochell expects everyone in the country to recognize her ugly face and do a little bow as she passes by them at the Target store. When a woman is mud ugly, has a body that looks like a drunk put it together, people don't look at you long enough to recognize you even if they had the stomach to study her picture so that would notice her if they ran into her at target.

What an arrogant racist b***h she is.

Oh for (*)(*)(*)(*) sake! At no point did Michelle ascribe any racism at all. She was talking about her being incognito and enjoying it. The post is idiotic and asinine and the OP is equally so for posting such obnoxious drivel. Idiots like this make make the job harder for intelligent people with legitimate gripes about Obama.

Soopermexican goes on my long list of hyberbolic, lying, fraudulent, political whore sites.

Of course it's a lie. Unfortunately, she's the 1st Lady and there's no way the secret service would allow her to go roaming around w/only her assistant w/her thru any store......

As far as her fairy tale of racism, what's the big deal of a short lady asking someone taller to reach an item for her on a top shelf? That's done all the time. I'm 5'2" and one of those who will ask for help. It's simply a common courtesy that tall people w/do for us shorties.....

If you could read, you would know it was Target, and she brought it up as an example in a People Magazine interview.

The Obamas: How We Deal with Our Own Racist Experiences

    Lame attempt.... but she tried.

Reading her quote on your link, I see no mention of racism. So I went to the interview itself.
It is odd that she threw that out there as some example. "Only one person came up to me".

I think even People has F'd this one up, but according to them... that's how the interview went down.

Funnier than that is Barack's experience with "racism"....

"There's no black male my age, who's a professional, who hasn't come out of a restaurant and is waiting for their car and somebody didn't hand them their car keys," said the president, adding that, yes, it had happened to him.

That's not even racism. Stereotyping, sure.... but not the suffering of racism they want everyone to believe they endured.... lol
