I live in Los Angeles and was stuck on the freeway when the anti-Trump protesters shut things down. The left seems to understand the importance of their right to peacefully assemble. (Even though they don't understand the importance of picking up their trash afterwards)

The same college campus that allowed staff and students to hold Hillary rallies threatened a student with removal by law enforcement unless he went to the "free speech zone"

The right to free speech and to peacefully assemble ends where an opposing view begins, right?

 

The lockdowns, are PROVEN to have flattened the curve, and allowed us to SEE THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL, and to entertain loosening up.

Free Michiganders, many from the more conservative areas of the state, know that Nazi Whitmer's latest order went too far. She is stripping them of their constitutional rights. Online, they pledged to protest, signed petitions calling for her recall and joined Facebook groups dedicated to having the order curtailed.

Nazi Whitmer's executive action extended her prior stay-at-home order through the end of April and made it more brutal.

Michiganders aren't allowed to travel to in-state to vacant vacation residences. They are not permitted to use a motor boat. Large stores must close areas "dedicated to carpeting, flooring, furniture, garden centers, plant nurseries, or paint."

We all know what subversives might do with these items, better just to remove the temptation!

Michigan Republicans like Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey and House Speaker Lee Chatfield decried Whitmer's order, lamenting that while lawn care and boating have been deemed "nonessential," marijuana dispensaries remain open and the state-run lottery is ongoing.

Chatfield said he felt the governor fumbled the latest order, which he believes unnecessarily forces people to abandon remaining hobbies and harms businesses.

 

Whitner has had it coming. I'm not surprised at all since this is coming from a woman who thinks it makes sense to ban vaping but not smoking or alcohol simply because vaping was the boogeyman-of-the-month.

She's a moron and she'll be voted out in the next election.

So, you think it is perfectly OK to expose all workers in all environments to the very real probability of getting the trump virus. Would you enjoy burying your children and other relatives who got infected with the virus? It is true that the virus doesn't kill everyone who gets infected but it does seem to cause other major medical problems. Do you want you and your family to suffer from brain, heart, and lung damage the rest of your lives?

Most of the world is on a lockdown. If Country A lets all of its people run free they can all get infected and act as a major reservoir that will continually infect the rest of the world.

Consider an aircraft carrier with about 6,000 people onboard. How many infected Sailors do you want on it? Do you want to fly on an airplane for hours with infected passengers and aircrews? Do you want to buy meat that has been processed by infected meat cutters? Do you want to go to the dentist who has been working on infected patients? Will you go to a sporting event and mingle with a crowd of infected fans? Will you go to a bar and mix with a roomful of drunks? Will you send your kids to school to get infected by the teachers so that they can come home to infect you?

 

They were protesting the moronic dictates of a governor who lacked any semblance of common sense.

 

Her policies are in line with other leaders around the world.

 

I am extremely disappointed that Whitmer didn't order mass arrests.

These protestors defeated their entire purpose by creating more cases of coronavirus.

If this happens again, Whitmer needs to mobilize the National Guard.

A bunch of Trump Supporters flying the Confederate Flag and helping spread the Virus isn't a good look.

Whitmer needs to get a lid on this.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is feeling the heat these days. Some of her citizens are seeing red over her recent executive order expanding the Stay at Home rules that were already in place. They’ve been organizing protests and setting up social media campaigns to have the order repealed or even demand a recall election. So when it comes to executive authority during a declared state of emergency, how far is too far when it comes to executive orders? (NBC News)

This Stay at Home order is really over the top. The order forbids travel to vacation homes even if they are inside the state. Nobody is allowed to go out on the water in a motorboat, but a canoe or a rowboat is fine! Stores are being ordered to block off areas “dedicated to carpeting, flooring, furniture, garden centers, plant nurseries, or paint,” in an effort to cut down on foot traffic, but, marijuana dispensaries are "essential" and open. Those not in compliance face a fine or a misdemeanor arrest.

The order about not traveling to a vacation home is ridiculous. If you have a family that’s already living together under one roof and they want to travel together in a car to a different residence, what new risk is being created if they observe other social distancing rules during the trip? And… boats? There are few other leisure activities that involve more distancing than fishing and boating unless you tend to collide with other boaters on a frequent basis.

It’s always dangerous to allow a politician to get a taste of too much power. Some can't handle it. She won't improve. Voters need to remove her from office.

 

Except, that's not at all the infection rate. No, we have not been able to test all or most, but what we have been able to test is that for as many cases as we know we have/infected, there have been thousands of others who are negative. In fact, nearly twice as many negative as positive.


These actions have been to the detriment of the Republic, and to the detriment of a free society and a free people. If Trump really did have this power, he would have been impeached with popular support. The Democrats do not govern to the will of the consent. It doesn't govern either to the majority or to the minority. It governs to its own end, it pursues policies that are its ideal, not pragmatic results.

And thus, we the people and the people of Michigan are left without representation. We are told "temporarily" due to the virus, we know it to be quite long lasting.

People have the right to demonstrate because it is their lives after all.

IMO, the original problem wasn't framed right. Everyone let the WHO whacko flap his jaws about the trump virus being a pandemic, which immediately caused a world-wide hysterical panic. It might have been better if the problem had been stated as a choice between living with a potentially deadly disease that might kill several million people around the world before an effective vaccine is developed or going into a world-wide lockdown for six weeks as an attempt to break the chain of infection. That is the type of problem the UN is designed to handle. Instead, every leader got to decide on how to handle it in his own two acres so the infection will continue for maybe the next 18-24 months at various places around the world.

While there is over 192 countries we are just one herd of people. If we don't let the herd get exposed to the virus so that the vast majority of people can develop a herd immunity at once we will continue to have flare-ups which will be much more disruptive and costly. If we had done nothing maybe three or four million people around the world would have died abut everyone else would have lived and been able to recover at the same time. The current process is the worse possible course of action for the whole herd.
