How much is that going to cost? How do we pay for it? How long will the families be detained together? The immigration courts have multiple-year backlogs as it is. Aren't there privacy concerns with mandatory DNA sampling?

 

I am all for the adopt an immigrant program. Those that have a genuine concern can bring some into their home and be responsible for them until they get their citizenship and get on their own feet.

I keep looking for signs that maybe Joe Biden isn't as much an America-hating Leftist as many in the Democrat Party already are. But if he just throws the border open, or enacts a 'revolving-door' concept of deportation, like the Obama regime was infamous for, we're in for a hell of a lot of 'immigrant' trouble!

It is considerably more complicated than that. Illegal migration went up as the economy improved under Trump. However, that high rate was cut in half. Additionally, the illegal migration rate is based on apprehensions since they don't truly know how many crossed the border illegally and were not caught It is likely that the wall cut down on that number.

 

OK, let's take that at face value and have them all apply for GREEN CARDS! Let them do their work, earn their money legally, pay their U. S. taxes... AND THEN GO THE HELL HOME!

Or, yes, they could apply for citizenship, too. We have lots of perfectly LEGAL ways for citizens of other countries to prosper in relationships with the United States! Why doesn't that ever occur to the Democrat Party or its 'advocacy groups', like the ACLU...?

 

That would be nice. And the way it used to work. But somewhere along the way, the system got messed up. And it became difficult to get green cards. It became difficult to go back home and come back again.

If that were true, one would expect deportations to go up. In any case, you are focusing on a passing comment. I think it's great that Trump didn't deport as many immigrants as Obama. Maybe not so great that he lied to his supporters about it, though. But hey... if you're going to lie to somebody by telling them what they want to hear, no better group than Trump supporters.
