I tried not to laugh. I normally try to feel sorry for people like this being so naïve and shielded from the real world due to overdose levels of progressivism, but why bother?

This is similar to a story a few years ago where a radical immigration activist and feminist went on a hitchhiking tour of the Middle East to promote marriage between all people, and they found her raped and murdered body in a ditch.

Or the middle aged childless woman who was blogging her rafting adventures through the South American jungle, where she was warned not to go, and got killed by the natives.

Progresssivism kills.

This has so many implications.
It's one thing if they want to risk their own lives with their naivity and well-intentioned optimistic outlook, but to risk the lives and future wellbeing of everyone else in the boat is something else.

 

They quit so they could go riding. Well, they saw enough and quit riding.

 

I understand the part about quitting the job and bloody hell going on a long-range outdoor adventure. Just the thought makes the heart leap out of the chest.

Problem is, the experts are right: Tajikistan is generally pretty safe. It’s not where you would expect to encounter ISIS militants. It’s not like they were biking through Syria.

Pretty much their entire journey up until their death proves their point: that most people, anywhere in the world, are fundamentally decent. There are a few bad apples, but nowhere near the majority.

So I’m not clear on why the OP is making fun of these two. If they were naive enough to bike through ISIS territory, sure. But that’s not what happened.

 

Then chop you up into pieces after they get it.

Here's what I find funny... It's pointed out that they didn't really enter any dangerous areas. That's right, they knew better, despite their virtue signalling.
