Niagara Falls is on the globe and guess what they figured out at the tourist trap.

Wrong time of year for a snow cone stand.

I'm sure all those people in Africa, India and Australia are wondering where this record breaking cold spell is.

And yet another year of record-breaking cold weather in MI and NY.

Just keeps getting colder and colder and colder.

Sure could use some global warming....

Just imagine how COLD it would be if it WASN'T for global warming. For me, I thank GOD (aka Al Gore) for inventing global warming (and the internet), or we'd all be underneath a glacier right now (and we'd be bored as hell). On Sunday, I broadcasted 80lbs of ice-melt onto my steps and driveway to keep all that global warming from accumulating and creating a REAL hazard.

it sounds like you're just joking about imaginary bunk

as opposed to what scientists and climatologists say:

When it comes to human-caused global warming, conservatives live in a bubble where they create their own version of reality. As Dr. Mann so aptly stated, they don’t just deny the reality of our changing climate, they deny the basic physics taught in our high school and college classrooms. And the maddening part is they are completely comfortable doing so while they deny that they are denying. They love it inside their bubble because they can keep physical reality somewhere else.

Remember global warming means hotter atmosphere over land and ocean and hotter oceans.

And hotter oceans means bigger storms and our hotter atmosphere means more moisture which increases precipitation volume associated with rain and snow storm events. Physics. Basic science.

According to the Union of Concerned Scientists, “Hotter air around the globe causes more moisture to be held in the air than in prior seasons. When storms occur, this added moisture can fuel heavier precipitation in the form of more intense rain or snow.

“The United States is already experiencing more intense rain and snowstorms. The amount of rain or snow falling in the heaviest one percent of storms has increased nationally over the last half century—with the largest increases in the Northeast, Great Plains, Midwest, and Southeast.

“The 2014 U.S. National Climate Assessment shows some regions of the country have seen as much as a 71 percent increase in the amount of rain or snow falling in the heaviest storms between 1958 and 2012.”

Also, because of human-caused global warming, we are disrupting the Arctic climate which means all that cold air can flow down the East Coast of the United States.

“In the Arctic, frigid air is typically trapped in a tight loop known as the polar vortex. This super-chilled air is not only cold, it also tends to have low barometric pressure compared to the air outside the vortex. The surrounding high-pressure zones push in on the vortex from all sides so the cold air is essentially ‘fenced in’ above the Arctic, where it belongs.

It is interesting to see what happens when knowledgeable folks discuss the AGW alarmism: http://www.forbes.com/sites/larrybell/2013/05/26/meteorologist-joe-bastardi-blaming-turbulent-weather-on-global-warming-is-extreme-nonsense/ Every time there is a hurricane or tornado that is taken as proof of "global warming" Joe provides the stats that tend to show that the event is either not more intense than experienced in the past, or is following common weather patterns and, in other words, is nothing new. I have seen him provide stats that go back into the early part of the 20th century of records of various kinds of weather events. They have proven to be remarkably repeatable over time. Our current experience is not new.

Here's a little more history of how the AGW movement came to be and how it is desperately searching for a way to prove its hypotheses despite experience to the contrary of their predictions. http://www.forbes.com/sites/larrybell/2013/03/19/the-feverish-hunt-for-evidence-of-a-man-made-global-warming-crisis/ It is interesting to note how the "Union of Concerned Scientists" seemed to change their focus or near the end of the cold war.

As to their attempts to prove their hypotheses, to date I have not heard the alarmists and "scientists" explanations as to how the earth was much warmer in the Medieval Warm Period which was followed by the Little Ice Age at a time when there were no coal power plants or SUVs to introduce the gasses into the atmosphere which supposedly cause "climate change" extremes. If those events were due to natural changes in the climate how can they claim that today's situation is any different?

Haven't heard much in the way of their commentary as to alternate theories of climate change like gamma ray bursts or solar activity. For some reason they don't want to spend much time or research money on those possible explanations. Seems the only cause the politicized "scientists" of today will accept is the burning of greenhouse gasses.

    Why would that be?

because you haven't been keeping up with the discussion

    i've posted this several times:

    It’s Not the Sun’s Fault

Henrik Svensmark is a physicist and professor at the Danish National Space Institute in Copenhagen. He’s published a number of papers, spanning a decade, arguing that the Earth is warming as a result of solar activity.

He hasn’t been persecuted for these beliefs, nor run out of the scientific community on a rail. Nobody has tried to censor his views. Rather, his theories have been tested by other scientists, repeatedly, and don’t stand up to scrutiny. That’s how the scientific method works.

“There’s no evidence to support Svensmark’s contention,” says Ben Santer of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. “It’s a testable hypothesis, and we routinely look at whether Svensmark’s ‘the sun explains everything’ hypothesis is in accord with available observations. And it isn’t.”

Santer explains that if the sun were warming the planet, we would see heating “throughout the full vertical extent of the atmosphere.” Yet scientists have found that while the lower atmosphere is heating up, the upper atmosphere is actually cooling, and that finding is “fundamentally inconsistent” with the idea that the sun is to blame. But, says Santer, that pattern is exactly what was “predicted by the earliest computer model simulations” of a planet that’s warming due to increased greenhouse gases.

We all know how the scientific method works with liberals.

It's just like your news sources.

    It's all made up.

They'll still try and sell the lie that this is the "hottest year on record".... it's all so predictable, unlike the climate.

I flew out of Tennessee yesterday. I was there on business. It was around 6 degrees when the plane took off. I bet they too wanted some of that mysterious global warming.

They love faking data and the liberal todies just eat it up.

In the real world we are about to freezzzee to death under a mountain of snow,

but don't you know it's all an affect of global warming.

No wonder bill lie the science guy wants to call it climate change.

He knows we can't all be that Gullible....

Not really faked data. Manipulated maybe. I have looked at the data and even with many of the changes, it only shows what we know now to a certain extent. What it does not show is our actual understanding what is going on. Government funded studies only back up a political agenda. The actual science is just science which has no political agenda. There are many in the science community not funded by government that question the political agenda and announcements.

-4 this morning with a wind. At least it confirms my fix to my pipe freezing problem as I did not leave the water running and the pipes did not freeze. Even with the cold winter last year it did not get this cold and this has been a milder winter snow wise.

Interesting to note that during the Little Ice Age, there were warmer periods and colder periods but the LIA were marked by colder Winters. The warmer period that has been highlighted by AGW from the 70's has been marked by warmer Winters more than anything else.
