A) I haven't heard a peep out of Trump in support of the Hong Kong-ese. So he doesn't seem to be led at all in this case.
B) It would be more accurate to say they are playing on our vanity by flying our flag and implying that we have the power to liberate them.
C) Your dismissal of the Hong Kong people's legitimate desire for freedom by inferring false motives is disturbing.
D) You have to ask yourself why they aren't asking for Britain's help. Up until 1997, they were British subjects. Why all of a sudden are they flying the US flag and not the Union Jack?
E) There's a lot of risk for us in this situation, in that we don't want to get into a full-scale war with China, but there's a lot of opportunity for us as well. One article I read said that one billion dollars a day is being transferred out of Hong Kong during this crisis, as the businessmen move to protect their assets in case they have to move their asses. We may end up with a LOT of very competent businessmen coming to our shores, with a LOT of money already at their disposal. I wonder if we could trade 30 million of our socialists for 3 million of their capitalists and bring peace to both our countries.
