This is consistent with the other actions of the Hussein Obama junta.

My guess is that the GOP will cut Social Security and then the DNC will get in there and force the redistribution of our retirement accounts.

They are a brilliant tag team like that.

The article is about think-tank chatter. I don't take it too seriously, though it in a backhand way, would support Ryan's proposal for allowing younger people to divert part of their social security withholding into mutual funds. I disagree with their position that cuts to social security would disproportionally affect the working class--it would affect everyone who is paid into the system.

Allow diversion of social security withholding into retirement accounts owned by the individual and invested in treasury bonds to do away with the argument that the stock market is too risky.

The feds can look into things all they want. If I remember correctly, we spent $250K to study a dung beetle in the Gobi Desert a few years back.

I can't wait to pick on the next GOP President the way you pick on this one. You'll have no recourse to shout me down.

Don't cut yourself on the loose tin foil. The World Nut Daily has rarely been right about anything so far.

Does anyone remember what happened when Bush the Lesser let the ecconony tank and everybody's 401(k) became walking wounded?

Eliminating the 401k is actually a good idea to my way of thinking. It was meant from the start to replace SS and has proven to be a major crime against working people.

I like my 401k, and I'd like to keep it.

    What a BS thred!

Here is ALL that even WND could muster to say on this "terrible possibility" of "More redistribution" as a result of a simple observation of statistics..

NO ONE is arguing their idiotic suggestion.

    NO ONE is proposing ANYTHING!

But the RIght WIng Propaganda Machine throws out another BS BOGEYMAN to scare the old folks!

Why not say "Obama is going to invite the Martians to come down and feast on the brains of Republicans"?

Its just as likely as this idiotic "fear"!

"...the GOP will cut Social Security..."

    Taxcutter says:
Although it is the big enchilada of federal spending, it is way way down the GOP priority list. Besides, it is the easiest to reduce without hurting existing beneficiaries. Simply raise the eligibility age.

"I can't wait to pick on the next GOP President the way you pick on this one."

    Taxcutter says:
Kinda like eight years of "Chimp" and "Bush-Hitler?"

If you'd called him "Dubya" it would have been OK. If "Dubya" (his middle initial) was OK, why not Hussein - a name he is quite proud of?

You obviously don't know what a junta is then.

First off, Dubya makes fun of him for being a "dumb Southerner". The man has an above-average IQ for crying out loud. Sure he did a few boneheaded things, but the man was still able to fly one of the most challenging aircraft the US Air Force had ever had in its inventory.

You, on the other hand, use Hussein as a backhanded way of insinuating Barack Obama is a Muslim. It's quite plain to see, it's like asking a toddler if they got into the cookie jar, of course they'll deny it, but there's chocolate stains at the corner of their mouth.

If Hussein is a problem, why does he not change it. He's supposed to be a hot-shot lawyer. A name change should be easy.

Junta is as junta does, and this administration closely apes the actions of juntas of Latin American caudillos.

Because he's not going to be dictated to by some moronic bigot, that's why. If you don't like it, suck a damn lemon or just shut up about it.

Oh, really? Did I miss the part where he cancelled elections, started mass executions of dissidents, or enacted posse comitatus?

He hasn't? Well, he must be the worst junta leader in the history of junta leaders, or...as usual, you're talking out your ass.

Eliminating the 401K is not only moronic, it's asinine. It's provides people opportunity to maximize their savings while getting additional contributions from their employer. However, not managing your 401K is not a very good idea. During the recession, I lost money but nothing compared to the people who just let their money fade away. I also capitalized on the market rebound. Gaining about 380% since it's lowest point during the recession.

And I never suggest using 401K as the only retirement. It's only a way to capitalize on free money from your employer. A person needs to invest in multiple retirement packages. Even if that means you need to cut back on luxuries such as 500 channels on your cable TV. There is ways to get as much entertainment with 1/4 of the cost. Maybe not buy that brand new car. By a used one at half the price.

However, it's people who are greedy and feel they need to have what the Jones have and then (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) about how they are going to survive when they are at the retirement age. And NO one should rely on SS. I figure I'll get 0 benefit from it and I plan accordingly.

You missed the IRS scandal, using the bureaucracy to persecute political opponents?

You missed the various atrocities of the Holder DoJ?

The president blew his lid when he found out about the IRS doing that and put an immediate stop to it. Heads rolled.

You should really stop drinking the Tea Party Kool-Aid, when it gets too bad they're gonna go the Jim Jones route....or don't, up to you.

You must have missed the numerous times I have called for Holder's impeachment for perjury.

Either way, the Federal government has over two million civilian employees, the President cannot breathe down everyone's shoulders all the time. He can't even breathe down the necks of the nineteen Cabinet Secretaries necks.

I like talking to you. You reassure me that I am on the far deep end of the intellectual pool.
