1. Alabama 2. Oklahoma 3. Florida State 4. Oregon 5. Auburn 6. Baylor 7. Notre Dame 8. Ole Miss 9. Texas A&M 10. UCLA Also Receiving Consideration: BYU, Mississippi State, Nebraska
FSU Oregon Bama OU AU Nebraska is a one person team.... 20 years ago, I never would have though that one person, on a college team, could make such an impact. Highschool, yes, but surely not at college Then Michael Vick Then Vince Young Then Tebow Then Newton Then Jameis now this kid at Nebraska.... same with the kid at Mississippi State. The trick is, can they build off of it, vs falling back into the gutter? UF didn't Auburn fell apart Tx maintained for a while... not sure if their deminse in 10 was because of Young leaving or TX coaching just collapsing after the loss in 09 VT hasn't ever seriously contended for another title since 99 Hopefully, and I think they are, FSU is recruitting other quality qb's after Jameis.... but we'll see.
I love how you have Bama #1 based off of a bye this past weekend, and a thumping of UF (like that was quality) I also see the coach's poll agrees with you. AP doesn't, but Bama, FSU, oregon, and OU are all right there. Win out, and you're in the playoffs. While I doubt it will happen.... 4 undefeated teams would be rediculous.... but each of the top 5 control their own destiny.... Even Baylor and aTm at 6-7 do as well. FSU this weekend gave me another aneurism.... holy crap their QB is good. That one TD when they went up 24-7 was unreal.... he was pump-faking when he was breaking a tackle... but apparently, beating a 4-0 NC state is not as impressive as Bama sitting at home after beating 3-0 UF in the minds of the coaches. People assume that "unranked" means all FSU's opponents are ranked 90-100, while all of Bama's unranked opponents are ranked #26.
Close game for the Seminoles, but then, NC State did manage to beat Georgia Southern 24-23, and that big win over the Presbyterian Blue Hose last week was very impressive. The AP poll will wait for FSU to lose before they vote them out of first place, but the Coaches Poll went ahead and broke with tradition this week: USA Today Coaches Poll 1. Alabama 2. Florida State 3. Oklahoma 4. Oregon 5. Auburn 6. Baylor 7. Texas A&M 8. Notre Dame 9. UCLA 10. Michigan State - - - Updated - - - No. It wasn't very impressive. I don't look for FSU to make it to the end of the season in the Top 5.
that wasn't the same QB against GA So. But GA so did beat that UF team that Bama is hanging their laurels on.... lol The coach's poll did (*)(*)(*)(*) off the FSU facebook pages... lol 20 game winning streak defending champs #2 had a bye #1 won their game has ever dropped down #secbias
Nobody brags about beating Florida any longer. Alabama is about to begin playing the toughest schedule in CFB. Meanwhile, FSU will continue eating frosty cupcakes every week. I won't be too surprised if they choke on one of them. FSU has no defense to speak of, and their offense only looks good when they're playing against a weak defense.
Sat, Oct 4 @ Ole Miss 2:30 PM ..... only because the SEC tells us they are good. Sat, Oct 11 @ Arkansas TBD ..... haven't been good in 4 years.... but they played an overrated aTm close.... so lets rank them high too. Sat, Oct 18 vs. Texas A&M - 2 loss team.... in any other conference, noone gives them the time of day TBD Sat, Oct 25 @ Tennessee ....... 5-7 last year.... struggling this year..... quality not found TBD Sat, Nov 8 @ LSU - 3 loss team last year, upset by a mississippi who we must accept as ELITE now.... TBD Sat, Nov 15 vs. Mississippi State.... it's like Manziel led aTm. TBD Sat, Nov 22 vs. Western Carolina.... I don't care about bashing filler games, as everyone has them. but not quality, of course... TBD Sat, Nov 29 vs. Auburn.... should be a very good game.... coin toss who wins at any given point. TBD A point was made this week.... the SEC champ will have a loss this year.... and undefeated BYU will be outside looking in the playoffs. Which is fine. but it's going to be a wild conference.
I realize, you like talking after, and I like the predictions part..... I nailed the Jameis prediction last year, even reposted my timehop when I was saying it before our first game. All the gator fans were hating.... but I made sure to tag all of them so I could then talk HUGE crap to them and said "what's it feel like to be SOOOOO wrong" The only prediction I made for the season as it started this year FSU makes the playoffs the SEC winner makes the playoffs Oklahoma makes the playoffs a 4th team noone is even talking about yet (notre Dame is fitting in that ideal spot like FSU was last year about the same time, they control their destiny too) But it could be any number of teams.... a second SEC team, who knows. I don't think Oregon will make it. They are good, but someone always catches them, and unlike Bama, they don't get multiple chances. 1 loss, they are eliminated
I just hope FSU stays healthy so they can hand out a serious beat-down to UF Weiss get's fired from KS but Muskrat remains at UF..................
Gator fans at work hate Muschamp is still there and the AD said he'll look in January.... Truth is... The UF AD has a "can not fire before date" marked on his calander in his office. That's the date, that breaking Muschamps contract becomes "affordable" I'm sure it's at the end of the season.
I suggest that Gator fans redirect their money this year to JXVL Jags. Toss some love at local boy Bortles. Yes, he was UCF but stop supporting Muskrat
They aren't supporting Muschamp... they are leaving the stadium in droves. UT will be a HUGE litmus test at 1. how true the UF ad was to holding off til the end of the year 2. fan support if they lose to UT... I don't see how the AD can NOT fire Muschamp.... "UF doesn't lose to UT anymore" When even a 4-8 UF can beat UT.... there is no excuse not to in their minds
Did you know that, between Notre Dame and Kansas, Charlie Weis is being paid 26 million dollars to not coach? Wish I could get that kind of money for not coaching. Hell, I'd retire!
That's what my UF fan friend doesn't understand.... everytime a contract is broken by the school, they have to contine to pay that coach. Muschamp is too expensive at the end of last season to fire... Gene Chisick was another one that got a great big contract at AU after his title, then proceded to suck (without Cam Newton) over the next 2 years.... so they fired him.... He made a ton. Congrats for him..... it was AU's fault for giving him that great contract without thinking long term. For however much longer Muschamp remains at UF, the better it is for FSU. So at this point... I hope he has 10 years left on his contract.
.... but not cheap.... Hire Michigan's coach next monday..... lol Therein lies problem #2.... you aren't going to find a good coach at this point in the season. All you will find is a person to hold down the fort.... it's why teams name interim coaches in the meantime... UF is a school that can entice a quality coach.... but that will cost money... and if too much of that is tied up in Muschamp's old contract.... it will limit who they can attract. UF dug UF's hole they are in.... part of the problem was when they made a deal with Satan back in 06. Hiring Meyer got them 2 national titles.... but at what cost? I feel UF is STILL paying that steep price, because when Meyer left, he left that program in shambles....
I agree. They should have let Urban quit when he quit. Guess they could try to hire Petrino away from Louisville?
man, that's crazy but, it takes 2 sides to negotiate a contract. The trustees should be calling for the heads of those who signed the contracts
Chip Kelly he'll be out of the eggles pretty soon. Pete is head and shoulders above Chip as is evident by what he's done in Seattle. Not all college coaches can make it in the NFL. And as far as who could be the interim for Muskrat, I have a pair of old shoes i can send to UF; they can't do any worse.
not only should they have just let him quit after Tebow broke his heart, the boosters actually enticed him to stay an extra year. Urban knew, since Cam Newton was gone, that his one trick pony had been stabled.... I enjoyed watching UF struggle that 5th year because it exposed Urban for who he really was.... I enjoyed watching him still leave, and leave them a year further in the hole a year later.... Muschamp was left a program in meltdown mode.... and he has only made things worse. That 11-2 season he had was a fluke and all of UF knows it. what has he been 7-6, 11-2, 4-8 , and currently 3-1 25-17 is unacceptable for UF.... and the fact they are stuck with him trhough November is even funnier to me. All those obnoxious UF fans in 06-09..... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
the same will be said of FSU fans in a year it's how things go. Some trustees should also be sent packing given the contracts they allowed to certain coaches. MI should be on the phone w/LSU talking about a buy out and letting Les Miles finish his career at his alma mata. I don't think the hat could turn things around in a year or two but he would make things interesting and get the program back on track. It's also time for Spurrier to groom his successor and step aside on his own. He made SC relevant but it's time to go.
well, with FSU, the only difference I see is we are landing future 4/5 * recruits. I compare what Jimbo's doing to what Saben has done at Bama, more than I compare FSU to Urban Meyer
let's see if he can sustain. The best thing for FSU would be to join the SEC. Send Vandy to the FCS and pick up FSU. If you want to improve your players for the NFL draft then join the SEC. If you want your best chance at being undefeated and getting to the championship round then don't join the SEC
