The potential also exists for every male individual in the population to become a rapist. Just as there is potential for every parent to molest their children. However that is not grounds for enacting laws to address these matters, simply because of something that may occur.

What matters is who and where the gun crimes is being committed. Large parts of Chicago are quite safe, like the White parts. The Black ones not so much.

Indeed. If Blacks committed murder at the same per capita rate as whites. the number of murders would drop 37%. The US murder rate is 2014 was 4.35/100k; remove that 37% and it drops to 2.8/100k. I did not say race has a causal effect. There must be a reason for the disproportionately high per capita rate of murders committed by blacks; I suggested we look into this as a means to address crime in the US.

I don't do anything with it besides recognize it and acknowledge it. I use it to make points in debating on the forum about where our gun crime is coming from. When anti gun folks tout our gun homicide stats as an argument for gun control, I can correctly point out that it is not the legal gun owner that is racking up the stats, and efforts to impose gun control on those not responsible for the gun violence makes no sense.
