Technically they cannot be compelled to join the union; the only requirment is that they have to pay a fee equal to what the dues would normally be. Thats Federal law.

Since state law says that they are home health care workers, they must comply with state law. OF course if they feel so strongly about being members or the union or paying the fee, they don't have to accept the medicaid subsidy and won't have to join the union/pay a fee. Can't have it both ways in Michigan. They have a choice; its up to them and obviously they made their choice.

Common sense thinking is no accident ...... except when it shows up in a liberal .... at which point we have to keep our distance, as an explosion is possible.

Sorry, but they do not have a choice. The funds are essentially owed by the taxpayer to the state. The funds are then available for assistance as needed back to the same taxpayers. One does not have an option on the union dues. Does not have another way to recover the service paid for.

For you to characterize this as a "choice" is to demonstrate the absolute hypocrisy and stupidity of the Democrat butt-buddy embrace of the unions. Shame on you. <spit>

That is a distinction without a difference, and anyone HONEST would admit that!

There is a difference; you just don't want to admit it. And its 100% accruate as well.

There have been other threads that i've posted why there is a difference, so I shouldn't have to post it again. But if you read up on the laws, you'll find out what I'm saying 100% accurate.

I just don't think your being honest with yourself.

It already has, why do you think the number of people in poverty has been skyrocketing?

Why do you think the economic recovery is taking so long?

Why do you think that the top 1% have seen a 275% increase in income while the rest of the economy sputters?

It's indeed time for the pendulum to swing, back towards the Workers having some rights again.

It's indeed time to revisit so called free trade and make it fair trade instead.

It's time to stop coddling the rich just so they can continue to play the market like it's a roulette wheel.

8 billion? That's a drop in the bucket compared to the profit that the oil companies made.

Sure, lets make it so businesses can go back to the good old days of hiring "Private Investigators" to simply kill off those who speak out against them.

Conservatives talk about "Union Thugs" well, big business knows more about thuggery than any Union can dream up.
