The flag's not racist. It wasn't part of the Confederacy as a symbol that "Hey, were the racist guys". The South needed a flag to distinguish itself from the present Us flag at the time. You ate under the assumption that everyone North of the Mason Dixon Line was against slavery and everyone below was for slavery. Not true. Even Lincoln himself was not anti-slavery. Delaware was a state pro slavery even though it fought on the side of the North. Kentucky, the state of my kinfolk, and Missouri had folks fighting on both sides. The Confederate flag you call racist is actually the Confederate Battle Flag and came into being to distinguish itself from the Northern flags. The Thirteen Stars are for the Thirteen States that succeeded from the Federal Union. The Black Power Flags are on a equal footing with the Rebel Flag when it comes to racism. A flag doesn't make a person racist. P.S. - I've never had a Rebel Flag but I do have music albums with the Rebel flag. Should I make a little bon fire and purge myself? NOT.

 

If you really believe that, then why are statues being torn down. Why are people marching claiming racism and demanding reparations? Is the flag racist? Some must think so because I see on the news protestors burning the flag. So we burn a flag and tear down some statues. Racism is ended. Congrats.

Really, do you really think that the removal of all Confederate monuments is going to appease the gaggle of violent and bigoted miscreants who are incapable of any constructive thought or deed?

Will the removal of Confederate monuments do anything to solve the genuine ills plaguing the Black community or appease the implacable mob?

Who's going to pay for their removal and restoration in a museum?

Shouldn't the property owners near the destroyed monuments have their property taxes reduced?

Same here, and oddly it was NEVER considered racial in any way! But then came the era of butthurt PC white guilt folk and their mission to set right something they resurrect and will not let die! Now everything and everyone is a racist, I suspect in the future every white person with black eyes will have to wear light colored contacts as not to mistakenly offend the poor Blacks and sympathetic white guilt folks..

Weird, growing up in NorCal, playing, working with blacks and Latino's all my young life and never considered them anything other then school mates, friends and the same guys/gals picking the same prunes under a tree right next to me
