But there aren’t any excess pneumonia deaths. The CDC said so.

 

The chain of events is simple.
Coronations COVID-19 might kill directly by causing adverse reaction of human body.
COVID-19 also can exacerbate existing health issues as any common cold virus.
We know that 100000 had pneumonia and COVID-19, but it does not mean that COVID-19 was a cause of deadly pneumonia.
We also have about 150000 people that did not have pneumonia but died with COVID-19 due to pre-existing health problem.
We do not know how many of those 150,000 have died due to COVID-19 and how many died due to other causes, or from other common cold or flue or whatever reason.
All we know that they died and their test was positive, or because doctor put COVID-19 as a diagnosis to increase hospital revenue.
No matter how you slice it, we cannot claim that COVID-19 is responsible for 250,000 deaths.

Yes, more people has died because of the (natural or artificial) mutation of the common cold coronavirus, that is about 100,000.
Other excess of death is attributed because mortality is increasing in recent years due to aging population, and because there was no flue pandemic in 2019.

The death certificate process is pretty detailed. Should you care to educate yourself, it is not that complicated.
