I've never heard of a white open-carry demonstration. Race isn't an issue with most gun rights folks.

Not really supportive of you assertion that "stats do support the rise in police shootings of unarmed citizens decade to decade." Matter of fact it looks like the opposite is true with comments like
    or this
Actually it appears it doesn't support your assertion at all, I am baffled.

This is a single story about a questionable police shooting, surely you aren't basing your beliefs on single stories are you...I got some that are quite the opposite if you want. I also failed to find any statistics in this story.

Another single story about a possible police misjudgment, I did ask for stats and none of your links really prove any proof of increases in unarmed shootings by LEOs that are increasing from decade to decade. Help me out here.

I believe you but a few bad apples does not a trend make.

I am sure you read this from my 1st link:

I collected this data myself because the U.S. Government doesn't. There is no national database dedicated to police involved shootings. Alan Maimon, in his article, "National Data on Shootings by Police Not Collected," published on November 28, 2011 in the "Las Vegas Review-Journal," wrote "The nation's leading law enforcement agency [FBI] collects vast amounts of information on crime nationwide, but missing from this clearinghouse are statistics on where, how often, and under what circumstances police use deadly force. In fact, no one anywhere comprehensively tracks the most significant act police can do in the line of duty: take a life."

Since the government keeps statistics on just about everything, why no national stats on something this important? The answer is simple: they don't want us to know. Why? Because police shoot a lot more people than we think, and the government, while good at statistics, is also good at secrecy.

I then provided 2 links which support police shooting and killing unarmed citizens, which is statistical data. There is a plethora of links on the internet that report police shooting and killing unarmed citizens. That is the statistical data I am referring to. As you move forward decade to decade, these stats have risen.

Here are a few more for you to review.

    https://www.rutherford.org/publicat...ing_phenomenon_of_police_shooting_unarmed_cit

    http://www.houstonchronicle.com/loc...tproof-Part-1-Unarmed-and-Dangerous-24419.php

As far as your characterization of the 72 year old grandfather being shot and killed in his own garage as possible police "misjudgment", I am sure his family will take solace in that.

There are about 18,000 police departments in the US. Some do it well and others have room to improve.

Does the NRA come out and support every gun club that pops up?

There isn't a need to use aggressively stupid arguments here.

Why are you so heavy about making sure we all understand that these are BLACK people who are open carrying? I've been a "gun guy" for 51 years, and this is the very first time I have EVER seen anyone trying to make a distinction about race in regards to firearms ownership. The ONLY time!
It appears that you are the one who thinks that minorities should be "better controlled".
FWIW, the NRA already embraces the Constitution, and the American People for whom it was enacted. ALL of them.
I spend a fair amount of time just outside of Las Vegas, where people go to shoot. There are some scary Asian guys who go out there a lot, and practice for IPSC competition. They "look like" Asian gangsters, and they carry both open and concealed. Each of them can dump a 17 round magazine in about 3 seconds, with reasonable accuracy. We are on the same side!
Whatever fear mongering you attempt here is already precluded.
I think it could only help for more people to mingle in the places where we go to shoot. There is a social ritual that is very good for all involved, and it can only happen among shooters. It's that point in the encounter where one guy hands his sidearm to the other, and invites him to try it. You should try it, Pardy!

you should know that he doesn't believe in the 2nd A for anyone other than himself. The old "gun nutters" line comes to mind in this instance. Everyone who owns more than a single shot is a gun nutter, yet he owns guns.

Are they members of the NRA?

The gun clubs I know that are supported by the NRA require NRA membership to join the club.

The race card is sometimes the only argument people can come up with.

Will the Huey P. Newton Gun Club accept white members?

The gun club I belong to does not discriminate.

This is the same as a thread that was started here recently with the title "Perspective".
There was a photo of several black men, aged around 40, holding various firearms. The intent was to get us all frightened silly at the thought of BLACK men with those evil nasty ASSAULT WEAPONS!!!
The content in these situations, with this thread included, is that the people in the photos are stressing that they are strengthening their own communities. NOT the thug "community"! These guys are NOT demonstrating against whitey, but against crime. These are the people who want to live and work and function. There is NO statement about excluding persons of other ethnicities from them.
Let's say that you saw these guys on the street during that little walk. Let's say you're not black. If you were to approach them, and make it clear that you understand their concern, you would be "one of them".
Time passes, and the day comes when one of the gangs has determined to "defend their territory". There is open conflict between the gang bangers and the residents. You show up on the side of the local residents. They would welcome you as an ally.
Why does our OP assume that bigotry is a foregone conclusion, and a race war is inevitable?

. I don't know if the government keeps stats or not but it's not what we were talking about. I asked you where you got YOUR stats to support YOUR claim that "stats do support the rise in police shootings of unarmed citizens decade to decade" and the first article you posted in response to me asking where you got your stats doesn't support your claim. It's a site griping about the fact that there are no stats and the author posted information directly disputing your claim. I was wondering why you feel more cops are shooting unarmed citizens and it is increasing from decade to decade. Your response feels more emotional than fact driven.

yes you did provide 2 links...what percentage of those 2 is that of the stats you are using? How much is a plethora and what percentage is this of the stats you are using?

What good does this do me? I want to see this increase of cops shooting unarmed citizens that is growing from decade to decade. Surely if it is increasing as you stated you have stats. Yes? No?

if it wasn't a misjudgment what was it, give me your term.

Everyone has room to improve I agree.

Well, according to the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, Congress required the US attorney general to gather statistics on excessive force by police and publish an annual report of the data. This has not been done.

This is precisely what we are talking about. Thus, all one needs to do is research various shootings as they are reported by local media outlets, which are then linked onto the internet. So, going by decade to decade, these shootings have increased. If you feel that is "emotional", oh well. I have provided links which support this. Whether you want to read them in entirety or piecemeal is up to you.

If you believe the 72 year old grandfather was shot and killed due to misjudgment as opposed to negligence, then we will not see eye to eye on this issue.

    Here is another link:
US Police Have Killed Over 5,000 Civilians Since 9/11

    http://www.mintpressnews.com/us-police-murdered-5000-innocent-civilians-since-911/172029/

As to these comments: American policing really needs to return to a more traditional role of cops keeping the peace; getting out of police cars, talking to people, and not being prone to overreaction with the use of firearms, tasers, or pepper spray. … Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been in more than my share tussles and certainly appreciate the dangers of police work, but as Joseph Wambaugh famously said, the real danger is psychological, not physical.”

    I could not agree more.

By their rhetoric, this group is anti law enforcement, not pro second amendment. So it is radical and not patriotic at all. As for the NRA, they're pro second amendment and law enforcement. The FBI should keep a close watch on this black panther bunch.

So if the government doesn't provide the stats, where are you getting them? Are you moving the goal posts? You made a claim that you cannot back up and now even worse you are telling me there are no stats but yet you say the stats show you are right. Admit it, you have no real stats, eh?

Sorry you mentioned stats to back up what you claimed, you provided no stats just stories. If I post stories about cops shooting armed criminals can I then say that stats do support the rise in police shootings of armed criminals decade to decade in direct contradiction to your claim....cause it happens a lot more than cops shooting unarmed citizens, stats show that!

LOL this is not what I asked....I asked what you would call it. Like most people caught in a misdirection, you add more misdirection....so what would you call the cops decision? Please focus and stay on task. The hardest thing to defend is emotional responses....this is why you are struggling.

You can't even post a link that supports your original claim that cops are shooting more unarmed citizens decade to decade and your link.....contradicts itself. You need better STATS Here let me help.
an estimate from a blog...do you see stats?
5000 divided by 12 years is 416.66 people per year and that is another estimate not stats like you claim.
This says all I need to know about your "proof post"

Dude your bias is showing. You have no stats, you have no proof, you have an emotional feeling that its a fact without any real proof. You are busted.

    Obviously

your posts suggest real paranoia........imagine if your neighbor had a nuke in his front yard.....that should keep you up at nights......
no one personally or privately in this country owns a nuke.
Get over your fears and depression about guns. It'll be the only way you can get sleep at nights...or arm yourself and buy a nuke while your at it and let us know how it turns out.

Not really; if they did have a nuke, it would be legal in here in some pro-gun hugger's minds and covered by the second amendment.

Are you absolutely sure? or just assuming?

No fear. Guns don't scare me whatsoever, just that they are very dangerous in the wrong hands.

Would help if people know what they are talking about first before allowing their emotions run out of control.

Guns are our insurance policy....now why do you want to take that away from us?

Oh wait......democrat care already did that.
