I suggest opposing sides make time & show an effort to talk to one another again. As Americans, we ALL share more in common than we disagree with. Focusing exclusively on our disagreement is a recipe for disaster.

I'm not sure I have any other choice but to call Trump a racist at this point. I resisted the label for a while, but I don't think I can remain consistent in my beliefs without pointing out that he's an antisemite. I agreed that Omar would be an antisemite if she ever actually appealed to dual loyalty, but she didn't. Trump has. I don't think it is intentional, just pure ignorance, like most racism.

 

As John Pilger put it, the media is about great power.
He ought to know.
I see the media as being an opportunity - an opportunity for anyone who wants to change the world in some way.
It's not really an opportunity to "report" on what is important or relevant.

Of Trump? Sure. And his antisemitic talk of dual loyalty is also done in ignorance. Which is closer to the topic of the thread.

 

I am sure that in Africa there are plenty of hard working, business oriented blacks.
Those chosen for slavery were not of this type. Many "blacks" who migrate or visit
America find the "African Americans" there quite lazy. And by "blacks" I mean Indians,
Pakistanis, Ethiopians, Nigerians etc.. I think in the next century Africa will be the
world's great power, with four billion people.

And in American culture "bite" is the point - the Left doesn't reason, they bite.
So Trump as "racist" needs to be replaced with "Trump as white supremacist."
It's all about labels. It replaces real news, and real people.

 

No, white supremacy is hardly a new term replacing racism. Racists have, however, adopted the language of racial nationalism and racial separatism to claim that they aren't racist. "I don't think whites are superior, I just think whites and other races should have their own space and shouldn't intermingle."

As for Trump, I have no choice but to call him an antisemite. I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't. I agreed that Omar would be an antisemite if she spread the nonsense of dual loyalty among Jews. She didn't. But Trump did. I'm not going to sacrifice my integrity in the name of Trump worship, so I have no choice but to call him an antisemite. I've never accused him of being racist before this point, except maybe when he wanted racial requirements for judges to hear cases involving him. He's forced me to it.

 

Certainly "white supremacist" is not new, but like most issues, it's how old terms get new meanings
or new usage. There's also "black supremacist" and "yellow supremacist" if you like. People are
people - as Luther would put it, the color their skin shouldn't matter. But to the Cultural Marxist, skin
is now a "thing."
I doubt that Trump is really antisemitic, or a racist, or pro-Russian, or even pro-American - Trump is
just Trump. He just has a few mental issues - and that's the really scary thing.

"Cultural Marxists" didn't invent the concept of racism. Racists did, however, invent the concept of "Cultural Marxism" to discredit critics of racism.

As I said, I was willing to call Omar an antisemite for spreading the racist trope of dual loyalty. But she didn't spread that trope. Trump did. I agree he could be acting out of stupidity instead of maliciousness, but that's pretty common for racists.

I didn't know about his antisemitism, but I read recently how his followers would get party
loyalist women for him to rape. Now, if America has a holiday for this guy then that's super
embarrassing.
If Americans are in the business of tearing down statues, maybe it's time someone tore him

Which side is calling their political opponents Nazis, Fascists, Racists, etc. and telling their followers to harass the other side in restaurants, shopping malls, etc., not allowing those with differing political views to speak on college campuses, and also destroying public property in their 'protests'? If you can name which party these people tend to belong to then that would be a good start.
