New York Times: Trump’s Immigration Policy Wins Black Votes

Oh, you'll get a bunch of angry (and totally dishonest) denials from Trumpsters and reactionaries on that one!

Of course it's true. Anyone who lived through the period (other than the segregationist bigots themselves) know that it is true. The Southern Democrats of the first three quarters of the 20th Century all either changed parties, or were succeeded by Republicans from the late 1970's until the early 90's.

Right after that, the talk radio noise machine started telling its audience a carefully parsed rewrite of the Civil Rights Era, one in which the Republicans were the real heroes (and which glorifies Reconstruction, on of our country's darkest periods). I first heard this line on Limbaugh sometime in the mid 1990's. I almost drove off the road!

Having lived through that period, I knew it very very well. And I found it astounding that anyone would construct such a towering and very obvious lie.

It was clearly designed to appeal to an audience that was frequently racist, providing a convenient fake erasure of their ancestors racism.

And it caught on with the target audience. You will see it repeated on this thead, if it hasn't been already.

And the bigotry of the reactionary resentful right wing is the principle force driving Trumpism, who skillfully played the anti black card by being the king birther, and then substituted Mexicans for his real try. The flagrant bigotry of that crowd was obvious in Charlottesville, and here on this forum as Trumpsters and the real bigots here fought to rationalize, defend or ignore what happened.

You seem to be very hazy on history or you intentionally revise it to fit your party, but Democrats have never been a party of equality, they are the party of slavery and the party who started the KKK.

Face it, the lies of the Democrats have caused damage to this country that almost destroyed it. Including the Civil War and including what they have been doing up to this very day.

Everyone should want freedom and liberty for all, not to form hate groups like ANTIFA, The KKK and the Nazi Party to subject human beings to their will.

It's something Democrats don't seem to understand. The very progressive movement is moving us back towards inequality and that is why Trump is so important. He crushed that movement and will now crush the coup attempt that tried to take him out.

I am a Conservative because I oppose slavery and socialism and embrace equality and freedom and Capitalism. They are the values that Conservatives hold true. This is why we want to return America back to it's greatness.

It's a fight you don't seem to understand.
