So you manage your minorities by (a) allowing their inclusion in your two parties and then (b) suppressing their differences.

That's just another form of dictatorship.

Maori, Chinese and Indians are represented in our parties because they choose to be. But, if they do not choose to subscribe to an over-arching political philosophy, they are free to form their own parties with a real prospect of finding representation in parliament.

And the evidence is there. There are two Maori parties. If Asians wanted to establish a party, it would not be difficult. They represent 10% of our population.

we actually have more than two political parties in the US...I know that's a common misconception among non-Americans who know basically NOTHING about America.

It is a pleasure to see the New Zealand thread revived. It was thought by many, that Awryly had succumbed to the normal NZ reasons for absense: lost while trying to find way back home, stepping into wrong persons house, or caught sleeping with neighbors wife. Sex change operation, however, was a complete surprise., to most except for 1984 Society.
