Football Season has come back around. Anyone catch the NY Giants and Buffalo play their first preseason game last night. Which Da Bears opener is with Buffalo.

Da Bears play the Eagles this coming Friday.....which really we just need to get out of these games without any injuries to the players.

That's Right.....Da Bears got them some Bird, Friday. Beat them Philly Eagles and took their egg. Pre-Season game....but with 90 players.
Da Bears First string D.....clamped down on the Eagles A-Team tho. So far.....its okay.

Next game is Thursday against Jacksonville.

Heya Longknife. [IMG] Sure beats any soccer.....and even with the MS media trying to push that BS into the limelight.

Still I can see how many here are not into Football American Style.....be kind of hard for those overseas to keep up with.

They have a hard enough time trying to keep up with the Forums that aren't at the top of the site. Oh well.....just means less activity. You know how that is.

I now have a HiDef, 51" set that shows me the pimples on their nose in the close-up shots.

    But, it's still booooooring.

And, no, soccer doesn't turn me on either.
    '
To be honest, the only sport I now thoroughly enjoy with my new TV is golf. Amazing clarity and I can finally see the ball rolling across the green.

Aaron Rodgers is back in top notch health. The Pack have a stunning offensive and defensive team.

The Green Bay Packers are headed for another Super Bowl win.

    Go Pack Go!

Oops, sorry. Brett Favre (you know, the moron who muffed the Vikings chances for a Super Bowel berth) is going to have to wait awhile before being inducted into the Packer's Hall of Fame. Poor baby.

Da Bears picked up Jared Allen from Minnesota.....they will have the Rush this year. Unless their starters get hurt.

It will be between the Packers and Da Bears taking that Division.

As memory serves, it seems to me that's what Da Bears said last year. Da Bears have some serious coaching and defensive issues. There are Wisconsin high school teams that could beat them.

    Go Pack Go!!!

Well, I think you best take a look at how they are rating Defenses. Seems not many think the Packers have much of one. Now Offense is a different story. Also the Pack has no real special teams clamp down. Other than kicking a field goal. Which they will be doing more of this year. Once Rodgers goes down again.

While I remain a huge NFL/NCAA football fan, trust me soccer has great merit and is well deserving of the support it gets from its many fans world wide.

But your post made me pause and reflect on something we often hear on Fox & ESPN radio - both stations have had numerous reports in which their commentators repeatedly condemn the NFL's alleged laxity in allowing players accused of domestic violence to play. As an example, Ray Rice was suspended for two games by the commish and these reporters (all male & of a right wing bent) object because they feel it isn't enough.

Yet, Hope Solo was also accused of domestic violence and she has not been suspended by USA Soccer. In fact she was recently touted as a star and fans objected:

Good of the fans to object. But where are Fox and ESPN? Why don't we hear daily condemnations from their reporters with the same demand that she be banned for life as those reporters have said about Ray Rice??

    Thoughts?

Well there isn't much support for soccer.....in a Football town. That's not to say there isn't any.

I couldn't tell you why.....did Huff Po and NBC/MSNBC, ABC, or CBS give this any coverage over this Domestic Violence?

I know they did when they reported on the L.A Kings Goalie for domestic violence.

Da Bears just signed Santonio Holmes to a 1 year deal.....we will see how Cutler and Holmes will get along.

Bears TE Zach Miller out for season.....

For Miller, it's a difficult situation after he was out of the NFL in 2012. His 2011 season was ended by a shoulder injury while with Jacksonville after he'd made 45 catches in three seasons. He has struggled with injuries in his career.....snip~

Huff Po and CBS did. Cannot speak for the other news outlets.

Still, my point isn't about the towns but these two major sports radio networks. They keep harping about Ray Rice every day - but not one single word about Hope Solo. Nobody has called for her suspension nor arrest. USA Soccer has been too lenient with her and, again, not one single word of objection from anyone except for those people reported in Huff Po. As for me, I want to see a uniform standard of conduct and correction applied across the board. I remain amazed at society's lack of uniformity in this regard.

Don't know what to tell ya.....around here it hasn't been so much Rice. More of Darren Sharper and the Texas WR Sanders.

Back to football, even for preseason, Carolina is looking pretty good. I wouldn't be surprised if they're in the playoffs this year.

If you're not sick and tired of hearing about Johnny Manziel yet, the Browns visit the Redskins in DC tonight at 8pm.

Speaking of QBs, RGIII looked sharp last week, but the man to keep an eye on this season is stud RB Alfred Morris. Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson make their preseason debuts tonight, too.

The 'Skins are set on offense, but the D is a huge question mark. Last year it was flat out awful...:puke:

LOL Santonio Holmes....Good luck with him. He did nothing for the Jets during his entire time there. And pray he doesn't get hurt again.

It's not going settle with you when Seattle spanks them tomorrow night.

Have only vaguely followed the NFL so far - this season I've bought the NFL game pass. Should be good.

Following the Cardinals, Redskins, and 49ers.

which proves your previous post is correct.they are so much improved this year even rodney harrison and tony dungy have said they are even better this year than last year which is scary for the rest of the league. I honestly think this was their toughest test of the season.there is no question whatsoever that they will repeat as superbowl champs.the only question IS will they go undefeated which is also a very strong possibility.

Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas were upset about the way they played. They said that they weren't as nearly dominant like they want to be. Most of the defensive players from Seattle were not happy about the way they played.
