Check out these Fake News Clowns pushing a similar meme:

THIS IS CNN: America’s 9/11 Amnesia: Right-Wingers Are America’s Deadliest Terrorists.

CNN’s Brian Stelter tweeted a segment by his colleague John Avlon, with the chyron reading, “America’s 9/11 Amnesia.”

Avlon attacked President Trump, before pivoting to what he calls, “another form of violent extremism: white nationalist terrorism.”

“Here’s a startling statistic,” he drones on. “Since 9/11 right wing terrorists have killed more people in the United States than jihadist terror. That’s according to New America.”

‘New America’ is one of your classic D.C. think tanks packed to the gunwales with establishment foreign policy impresarios, including — though not disclosed — Avlon’s CNN colleague Fareed Zakaria.

Amongst New America’s donors are the same old names: the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Google, the Omidyar Network, and of course George Soros’s Open Society Foundations.

But New America didn’t publish such a report, it simply aggregated an article written by the far-left Slate magazine. The author — Daniel Byman — has written about “right wing” terrorism almost every other month this year for Slate, with headlines ranging from Right-Wing Terrorism Could Get Even Worse After Trump” to “Trump’s Rhetoric Is Raising the Risk of Right-Wing Terrorism.” Breadth, perhaps, is not Byman’s strong suit.

On Aug. 5, 2019, he published what CNN laundered as a think-tank article by New America, titled: “Right-Wingers Are America’s Deadliest Terrorists.”

Byman’s article in turn leans on research conducted for New America, by author Peter Bergen, another CNN employee. You see how the D.C. merry-go-round works?

And they even used the chyron ‘America’s 9/11 Amnesia’ while showing articles claiming ‘Right-Wingers Are America’s Deadliest Terrorists’ which memory holes the fact that, um, al-Qaeda’s attacks on 9/11 killing 3,000 people were by far the deadliest in American history.

18 years later, are we safer? Have we defeated Radical Islamic terrorism and those who sympathize with them, encourage them, fund them and cover up for them?

    The short answer is NO.

Not only no, but we now have two terror sympathizers serving in the U.S. Congress as elected officials, using their position to normalize and even stand up for terror-linked people and organizations.

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, as recently as few weeks ago, August 25th, tweeted her support for a chief financier of Al-Shabaab, the U.S.-designated Somali terror group is responsible for carrying out the deadliest terror attack in Somalia's history where almost 600 people were killed just 2 years ago.

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is using her position and clout as a member of the U.S. Congress to pressure the Somali government to protect Hormuud Telecom. Two of the Telecom giant's employees were convicted in the deadliest terror bombing in Somalia in 2017. Ahmed Nur Ali Jimale, the Telecom giant founder, is a chief financier of Al-Shabaab.

What gets frustrating from my perspective is the inability or unwillingness to connect the dots. Weird how the mistakes tend to be predictably all mistakes that either minimize Democrats or minority groups groups involvement or maximum Republican involvement.

I understand that this stuff mostly works in Democrats favor so Democrats want to write it off as an honest mistake but does that logically make sense? If you showed that quote about airplanes taking aim I'd bet alot of high school students could see the error and they aren't professional journalists who's job is to be good at writing.

It's gaslighting reality and it's dangerous because your mind tells you two different things at the same time what your told is true and what you see as true.

They simply cannot help themselves with this whataboutism.

I'd like to see the list of "right wing" terror attacks they're referencing.

If it's anything like the ADL list people like to reference, then it's a joke.

"He's asking how the airplanes took aim and brought down the Twin Towers"

Time travelers came back in time from 2100 and put ai tech in the airplanes in 01

    Let's see:

    I guess that one.

Besides - Trump didn't do anything. It was the computers that took aim at the Recovery Fund.

I read the retraction piece and even though they made no apologies, at least they had the decency to admit it was a terrorist attack.

I've long since given up thinking we can expect our news media to speak honestly so it really wasn't a huge shock actually...

The comments on Twitter were hilarious though, and I was laughing along...

Then I thought again about all the lives affected, (not just lost), and I remembered that day... I bet everyone can remember exactly where you were... I was in my Dr's office waiting room when the news first came in...all that week I could feel them, missing, like this huge hole in the world.

Not just because the towers crashing down was played and replayed agonizingly on tvs everywhere you went, stores, malls, offices ect... But it was just so staggeringly sad and there was a definite emptiness, the world seemed to cave in on itself that day.

Even today I can feel them missing.

My nine yr old Daughter was asked by her school to draw a piece of art for a rememberence ceremony in 2014 and It has been my avatar here since I joined. The poster she drew so perfectly captured the deep, deep grief we felt as a nation. I will always keep it as my avatar.

I couldn't find a place, an appropriate thread, but I wanted to say I remember and I always will.

Yep. The computers aimed themselves at the funds.

Don't you believe the NYTimes? They know how things work like that.

Sure there are, gang bangers. Limiting American freedoms will not change that. Look at the UK, they now want to ban knives.

Retracted? Why did they tweet such a ludicrous statement in the first place?

This is how Obama and his nefarious ways have influenced to our detriment
American discourse.Like the way Julian Assange was and is still being treated.
Like some Serial Killer caught in some third world country with jails dirtier and
more defiled than some Southern Junkyard where even the Junkyard dog seems
really depressed. No Rabbits to chase because the place isn't even fit for Rats.
Journalism DIED on Obama's watch. In fact,in 2008 when he was Not vetted.
Now we have hardly any dutiful Investigative Journalist on the beat.
Most everything being written or played on cable is either a sheer Lie or
so tainted with absurdity as to be even worse than a lie.Cartoonishly
presented.Like Obama and his explanation as to the Benghazi Attack.
He was Never,to this day interviewed as to what he was doing the night
    of the attack.How convenient.How ... Bugs Bunnyish.
This is what to expect as the real truth { skinny } is seeping out as to
the sheer Lies and manifest propaganda as to Trump everything.
He WAS spied on and Framed. And Obama knew about it.A lot
of what we see is an attempt to never get around to finding out just
how much Obama knew about how Trump was spied-on and Framed.
What it will take is guys like Comey and McCabe and John Brennan
and James Clapper turning on each other in order to escape
jail terms. So each day is a new way of making news about Everything
Except those Guys and what they Pulled.Under and With Obama's
    consent.Maybe even Advise & Consent.

What's more significant? The planes or the terrorists? I'll be STUNNED if you reply! :roflol:

No, the bullets did not kill the person all by themselves, they required someone to shoot them just like the planes required someone to fly them into the WTC. So haven't you just demonstrated why the NYT was so stupid and dishonest? I'm not sure why you think your above analogy does anything to make the NYT look like it did nothing wrong. Nice try though! :roflol:

So you don't think the NYT did anything wrong here?

Oh, so you're perfectly okay with the NYT focusing on the planes instead of the terrorists?

None of the above. Protecting the LW Borg Collective overrides all things. If it takes threadjacking or blindly accepting the LW narrative, so be it.
