Very interesting. I took out the beginning of this opinion piece because it dealt with the border situation and Obama's inability to handle that crisis. The author points out psychological flaws of both Obama and Nixon. And he points out how Obama sees Russia's recent military activity as acting out of weakness, not out of strength." He calls ISIS the JV team. Now, Obama stands there with his pants down when he claims to have no strategy, then blames it on the Pentagon. From the article, I think the question that leaves many people puzzled is from Speaker John Boehner, Hes been president for five-and-a-half years. Whens he going to take responsibility for something? Good question. But the question I'm curious about is do you think the author has accurately described Obama?
I have always felt that Obama was suffering from a very adolescent solipsism which leads to severe narcissism. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solipsism Solipsism is the philosophical believe that only one's own mind is known to exist. In Obama's case, the solipsism manifests itself in the fact that he assumes everyone thinks like he does. Republicans must believe that his programs are the only way to do things correctly, otherwise they are either ignorant, stupid, or evil. We see this behavior exhibited by Obama on a daily basis. Obama doesn't understand Putin, and angry Russian nationalist because Obama doesn't even particularly like his own country. I cannot see much of Obama's behavior which cannot be explained by adolescent solipsism.
