The Republicans really embarrassed themselves with this issue. I'd hope they would give it a rest. Even if he wasn't born here, he is just as much a citizen as Ted Cruz, who people want to run (he was born in Canada).
The thing that escapes most people is that even if he was born in Nigeria............he was still an American citizen because his mother was American. You can have dual citizenship up until the age of 24 and then you have to choose one or the either. The entire argument is moot.
Enough about President Obama's birth certificate. Everyone knows there's something different about it and it's obvious that he's all black and that his biological mother is not white. What difference does it make where he was born? He's still America's greatest and beloved president ever. And that's all that matters. Geography now has far less importance. It's a merged and condensed world of international peoples. Being 'murican no longer has an aura of authority attached to it. Thank you.

I'm just curious why the certificate first posted online by the White House was claimed to be a "direct scan of the original" but could be saved and opened with Photoshop and shown that all parts were separate layers. Was there ever an explanation for this?

It was a legitimate question, I don't follow the birth certificate topic. All I remember was a friend in design telling me to open the doc and release all layers and to my surprise this "direct scan of the original" had a dozen difference pieces. If it was as simple as some art tech at the WH doing a little touch up for the sake of presentation that's one thing, but since nothing was ever said and the document + original description was removed shortly after ...it begs the question. So I'll ask again, was there ever an explanation for this?

Okay. The original was destroyed as any birth certificate that old in Hawaii has been. It was scanned and is stored electronically. The governor of Hawaii (who happens to be a Republican) has looked and and confirmed it is there on record. Besides, you also have the 2 newspaper announcements of birth as well. Let's face it, at this point even the folks who claim he "shouldn't be eligible" or he's "not a real American" or "Kenyan" know their full of crap when they claim it.

Basically the US government posted a document claiming it to be one thing then, upon citizens discovering its another thing entirely, took down that document and offering up no explanation. Now that document could have been anything anything but because it involves your beloved messiah you would rather respond with mockery and meme's than entertain a completely legitimate question. And why should it matter? Argument or validity of his birth place aside, its a law. Regardless of how many other countries have similar laws, or regardless of if you think it should be followed or not. Its a law so it matters.
