Not entirely true. There are automatic weapons legally in civilian hands. Not many, only about 120,000 in the whole country, and they're a paperwork nightmare and insanely expensive, but it is hypothetically possible to own one. And a gun that malfunctions is not cause for imprisonment. Hell, it's possible (but stupid) to get a firearm so hot that it will cook off rounds with zero trigger pulls.

 

That's nice ... military hardware for civilian-use (re)-modified to military-specs for use on civilians.

That's not what he means ... he has a burning desire to tell us how to convert an AR-15 to full auto by swapping and milling for M-16 select-fire components ... he's been dying to blurt this out.

Why bother, I can convert a mini -14 which is currently a non assault rifle to full auto in mere seconds. It'll never be as accurate as an AR but if your going for spray and pray who cares.

No sweat here, I no longer have a mini-14 in the safe. Accuracy is my game. If I cannot perform corneal eye surgery at 200yds the rifles down the road. The 14 is long gone.
