Sad but true. We've never had such a divisive president. Nor one who has such obvious hate for half the population. Too bad he cant bully Putin like he tries to bully conservatives.
How many of those people had health insurance that was cancelled by the ACA (contrary to what Barack Obama promised and almost every liberal on this forum parroted over and over)? According to the Democrat that runs the California Department of Insurance, one million Californians. California has probably about 12% of the country's population, so the 7 million figure is only being bandied around as success by those too ignorant of the facts to be able to grasp how worthless the number is and by those too dishonest to admit how much of a failure the ACA is as they are too emotionally invested in it. Don't you think the net number of newly insured would have a lot more meaning? Those would be the people who are now doing what they were supposed to do who previously were not. They would be the people now paying their own way as the others already were. They would be the one taking care of their personal affairs just like the people had been doing who got their plans taken away by Obama and company. They would be the ones who now have health care coverage who previously didn't. Calif. Insurance Commissioner: More Than 1M Californians Having Insurance Cancelled Due To ACA Coverage Expansion Fail: Less Than One-Third Of Obamacare Exchange Enrollees Were Previously Uninsured What were those figures the Democrats kept coming out with? 30 to 70 million uninsured people unable to get coverage (the number Democrats claimed just kept seeming to grow as the push to get the ACA through intensified? If only one third of the questionable 7 million figure were previously insured, then the 30 to 70 million uninsured (claimed by the Democrats) was barely even changed. The ACA personifies failure. The vast majority of people who were irresponsible before are still irresponsible. Clearly, not only was the initial roll out a debacle. The entire program is a debacle. The idea that it is in any way working as promised (again by the Democrats and parroted by the gullible liberals on this forum) is absurd. In fact, it is working just about as well as I have stated it would from day one.
Its not our job to prove the facts President Obama presented. That is all on him, and until then, it is not our responsibility to prove a negative. Show the data.
Maybe. I think overall it will create an incredibly expensive and inefficient bureaucracy. But I suppose that remains to be seen.
I didn't write the article, and I agree...it does sound stupid to be celebrating "signups" when it has no bearing on being "covered" at all. Once again, documented in the article that they either don't know, or are keeping to themselves the number who had actually paid. You know the ones who would actually be covered. That guy is clearly you. You didn't read the article, or ignored the parts you didnt like. You simply have no idea what you're talking about....par for the course with you O-Bots. The Administration can't even tell us how many have actually paid for their healthcare, and qualify as covered. In other words..."bro"...this is your admission that everything I stated was true. if it wasn't you would have surely posted something. I was being generous with my 3.5 Million scenario....likely it's far less than that who have paid. It sounds alot better to stand up and trumpet "sign ups" though. It's the law....that somehow keeps getting it's implementation delayed...... Next time before popping off, have a clue as to what you're talking about, or shut up..."bro".
No, that's not what he said. He said the debate is over and basically said it's here to stay...as is...
Correct, and to appear in Rose Garden on the very day the goal was set for makes it even more suspect. Especially because only days before they were woefully short of the number. I mean. come on, they're boasting that Obama's performance on "Between Two Ferns" was a success, that's how desperate they are.
Obviously you're not keeping up, the American people do not like this law and it's NEVER had majority support. How does that equate to a "SMALLl group of angry people"?
I saw the speech, and have never seen a President whine at the American people like that in my life. No wonder Putin is so brazen. I guess it's the beginning of a new age after all.
Except, when those same pundits would call someone not in your precious, do no wrong party, the liar of the year. Then you would be laying it down t here without coming to any conclusions on your own Because, Your Political Party, is what it's all about for you. You care nothing for the fact that Barack lied to millions of people, over and over again. You will numbly and blindly believe everything he spouts out of his mouth because you are a party hack.
Is your post seriously, seriously telling me what I think? What I would do in some hypothetical situation? Isa your post seruisouly just a bunch of made up garbage telling me what I am, nothing more than a long winded personal attack? If you wish to take me to task on what I said, please do so. But don't sit there and tell me what I think and what I would do in some made up world.
I saw a small part of the speech while I was out yesterday. I happen to catch the part where he was saying that their are people who are angry about people signing up for insurance, that they're angry anyone is on it. The sad thing is their are a lot of people who are going to think he's telling the truth. It's a shame we have a president who would rather play partisan games then try to actually unite us.
Well having read all the posts and watched the little back and forth quibbling over semantics let me just say that from a PERSONAL perspective the ACA is doing EXACTLY as it was touted. My husband who is self employed and has quite a few pre-existing conditions couldn't get insurance anywhere for under $700+ a month and even then it wouldn't cover any of the conditions he NEEDED it for. Now thanks to the ACA not only does he HAVE insurance it also covers his pre-existing conditions and he pays less than $300 a month. So say whatever you like about Obama and the ACA but to paraphrase a saying in the Bible..,. As for me and MY house....We like the ACA.
Look at what was promised of this snake oil vs. what has been delivered. The cost curve has not been bent downwards. You cannot keep your own doctor or health plan as promised ad nauseum. Obama Care has not, when all is said and done, changed the health care landscape and the CBO calculates that even with Obama Care nearly forty million people will still be uninsured. Even though Obama railed against "free riders" in our health care system Obama Care does absolutely nothing to force people to become responsible for their own health care and indeed, free riders by the millions have jumped into Medicare to avoid the penalties of Obama Care. http://dailycaller.com/2014/01/23/obamacare-creates-a-new-class-of-free-riders/ I see nothing to celebrate.
Psssst . . . those five million people who already had health insurance and were HAPPY with it and their MDs do not agree with you because not only did they experience the emotional event of suddenly NOT BEING COVERED but most of them then discovered that they had to pay substantially more under Obamacare . . . one way or another . In fact Obama just performed a rather stupid "In your face!" where they are concerned. It's doubtful that those five million SHAFTED voters will vote for a democratic politician again for a while.
Lies straight from Der Fuhrer's mouth: "If you like your healthcare plan you can keep it." "If you like your doctor you can keep him."
I think time will tell on the popularity of the new health care law. While I know that all aspects of the law are not loved by all, things like the ending of being denied coverage for pre-existing conditions are very popular. Those who had their coverage cancelled by the insurance companies have opportunities to get new policies, so I don't see the big deal. Throughout my life time I have had three occasions where my insurance policy was cancelled for various reasons and I had to get used to new insurance coverage. It's really not the end of the world.
Is it working? Or will it eventually be the responsibility of the American taxpayers to bail it out when it doesn't? Because we all know that's what is going to happen in the long run.
Republicans angry about numbers... don't even have made up BS numbers to counter... I tell you one thing, at least Obama isn't declaring victory like this: - - - Updated - - - Conservatives on this forum have a habit of violating Godwin's law instantly. Its one of their many weaknesses, and a perfect example of their hyperbolic thinking and bad argumentation.
You know which Der Fuhrer I'm quoting. The black guy who we spend a billion dollars a year to make him safe and comfy and fly around the country to golf outings or political fund raisers. Come on, you've heard of him I'm sure.
