active military don't pay for their care. it's free.

their wives have not been in warzones. tricare is for military dependents and retirees. I am a retiree. My tricare premium has never gone up. that's silly. the cost of healthcare have skyrocketed and all of my neighbors, friends, and associates have had to pay increased premiums. My premium is going to FINALLY go up $150 a year? Big deal.

    ...since YOU EARNED IT.

Care to advocate for retroactive pay decreases?

I will ADVOCATE for aggressive pay INCREASES for servicemen and women because I realize that they are not paid anywhere near enough for the service they perform. I will, as a retiree, be perfectly willing to pay marginal increases in the cost of my tricare premium, especially since I have never paid one yet.

The point is: the guys who are in the war zones get free healthcare and pretty (*)(*)(*)(*)ed inexpensive healthcare for their families. If they have to pay $12.50 more a month so that their families continue to get great health care, that is not a big deal... and only folks like you who HAVEN'T served and who AREN'T even covered by tricare want to make a big deal out of this... and claim that servicemen and retirees are getting screwed. Well... as I said... I call bull(*)(*)(*)(*) on that. I AM a retiree and I am NOT getting screwed. OK?

Just so we understand each other, YOU ARE ADVOCATING FOR RETROACTIVE PAY CUTS.

Looks like we're clear on the issue.

Also, if $12.50 a month is fine there is some upper limit you think isn't fine, eh? See where that goes? You're a man of means. Not everyone is so lucky.

are you loony? please show where i have said that.

just like it is not a "retroactive pay cut" when a private citizen has to pay more this year for health insurance. It is a part of life here in the great capitalist society. It would be so much better if we had universal health care and all of this would be moot... but guys like you stopped that.

The benefit was earned at time of service as a partial payment for service. You think it's fine to reduce this payment. Could we eliminate it? If not, why not?

I am...I find the idea that my promised 'free health care for life my myself and wife' has been perverted into 'we never made any promise (flat lie) and we can and will charge you for your promised care so live with it'.

I have proposed cuts to health care on this forum. My proposal provided equal cuts for ALL government programs including entitlements and federal retirement. What we seem to be getting are cuts to only one program, Tricare, the only one often earned under fire.

This is the camels nose in the tent. Do you really believe that fee will remain anywhere near $150 a year?

    Absolutely!!!! well said!
The only one that is getting cut is the military, those who serve this country and put their lives on the line for our freedom and liberty. Something else Ubama wants to see driven to it's knee's, like the rest of the country.

As far as I'm concerned the government has broken a contract.

Hey...Hey...Hey. Calm down now. You know the shooter may be just wanting to take out the microphone. You know how Obamy loves to talk too much. He just loves those lies he spits out.

I don't wish him physical harm but would like to see him and move to the Middle East with golf clubs….where he can listen to that beautiful Islamic call to worship….he says this is the most beautiful sound in the world….there he can practice his Muslim faith.

Indeed I do. When the organization promising the benes goes bankrupt, say GM or Chrysler, then the union sucks it.

Oh wait, Obama screwed rule of law to favor the UAW. Bad example.

When the USA goes out of business the military benes should cease.

You can spend a week reading every single word I've posted and you won't find me advocating for dismissal of the rule of law. Never.

Oh I see what's good on a state level isn't good on a national level. I though you guys wanted to reduce spending? Now you don't. Your article says
You do realize an retired colonel receives about $3500 per month or more right? It's not going to leave them homeless.

    Let me introduce myself.

The military is something the US government is required to be in charge of as per the constitution.

    Local teachers, not.

A Colonel has to have done a hell of alot to deserve his rank. You make it like its just for the Colonels and generals, its for all service men and women.

And to top it off, their civilian counterparts benefits won't be touched.
