The author nails it...the left is out of political bullets when it comes to ObamaCare. Nothing they can or will do can save the debacle.

 

It's a political game and Dems aren't nearly as good as the GOP when it comes to having meetings about what talking points to push for the day. Plus, GOP has simple (*)(*)(*)(*) that people cling to when they hear it. Remember 'death panels'? It sticks in the mind much easier than "Your insurance company is going to try to sell you something at greater price that you don't want or need after ACA goes into effect, but I guarantee you that there's a 95% chance your price will go down and you'll get better coverage."

Just doesn't roll off the tongue the same way. People were already fed a bunch of bogus BS about ACA before September. It was easy to just add to the pile of garbage. That's politics.

 

There is politics an then there is the reality of the program....Come on, tell the truth. Do you really believe anyone at all, and I mean anyone, read that mess before it passed, followed all the caveats and reference to other source and knew what that mess really meant?

 

Apparently a LOT of people read it. There were 200 amendments added to it. So...yeah. If you're talking about the public, of course they didn't read it. They suck too much on the teet of media to tell them what it says which is why tons of people have no idea what's really in it. Dems, GOP and media echochamber made sure no one has any idea.

That people have no idea what's in it, including Nancy Pelosi, is directly a result of an incompetent media. Any politician will present a plan according to his perspective. The media should be the ones reading and analyzing the ACA and reporting facts. It's a sad prospect that Americans have to turn to anonymous forums to wade through crap to find the points that will affect them.

Bull. I read the first thousand page proposal beginning to end. People complained and cited the mess until the dems did a revision of well over 2000 pages. I tried to read that but it was gibberish as every page had a dozen references to other programs and documents. It was absolutely impossible to read much less understand. Every time any of it made any sense and brought out the attackers, the left revised it into gibberish impossible to understand. They did it so often no one anywhere to this very day knows what it means. it is why BoBo can amend it on the fly. How can one object to something no one read or understood, but simply signed.

The signing was an act of faith and last month we found that faith was sadly and expensively misplaced.

What will not be OK and will be far more damaging will be the sticker shock followed by mass flight from the thing. I would bet the left does not get 20% of the healthy folk needed.

Just because you read doesn't mean a good majority of the other 300 million people in this country did. Especially since so many people say untrue things about it like it's fact. The GOP did a good job of using the fact no one would read the novel to their advantage.

What reality is that? That Obama tried to push through single payer and congress said, 'No, let's keep our broken system in place but try to make it more palatable and help our insurance companies instead of people in the end'?

Define your terms. I'm well aware of the motives for ACA and what the end result is. Now you have insurance companies trying to take advantage of people by giving them false figures. Thousands of stories exist where the insurance company is attempting to screw the customer by claiming 'Obamacare requires you to have this expensive package' when that's far from the case for ridiculously large estimated percentage of people. Again, there's only small cracks where people's insurance actually will go up, but their coverage will too along with it. People claiming they want their old insurance over the new choices underinformed and mislead by the insurance agencies. Is that Obama's fault? I never hear people blaming companies trying to make a buck at the expense of people and using ACA as a scapegoat to continue shady business practices.

 

Many people are aware of what health insurance companies is doing in screwing people. The ACA did make them accept pre-existing people with health issues, however the insurance company is still protected in not having to pay those health claims by giving them high deductible plans. The only benefit these people now have is they now get a reduced rate on the total charges of their healthcare. What these people do not realize is they are still being charged higher premium costs and even higher deductible plans and if they were to sit down and review their medical bills on a yearly basis, they would soon realize that health insurance is now a waste of money.

 

No, not from the Bush Bashing crowd. From the guy that thinks half a dozen different threads about how Obamacare sucks on the Current Events forum is a bit redundant even if each thread has different reasons why it sucks.

 

This is the exact opposite you know. I can prove it to you. Next big Obama screw up log on and view the left's response. Then let me know and I will email you OFA's daily talking points which will mirror all the arguments you hear here. Most of the left here, yourself included, drone out any government line you are told to. Any lie etc... It is like this new thing about how "the plans cancelled were bad anyway and Obama knew people didn't want them so he told the truth" etc.. Argument you hear from the left. That is why my new favorite word is "apparatchik", nothing better describes the average Obamatron.
