The ocean has now broken temperature records every day for more than a year. And so far, 2024 has continued 2023’s trend of beating previous records by wide margins. In fact, the whole planet has been hot for months, according to many different data sets.

“There’s no ambiguity about the data,” said Gavin Schmidt, a climatologist and the director of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies. “So really, it’s a question of attribution.”

Understanding what specific physical processes are behind these temperature records will help scientists improve their climate models and better predict temperatures in the future.

Last month, the average global sea surface temperature reached a new monthly high of 21.07 degrees Celsius, or 69.93 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the Copernicus Climate Change Service, a research institution funded by the European Union.

Alarming data regarding the "Chinese hoax" continues to roll in. This, as Don is asking for campaign contributions from Big Oil to help him roll back Biden's climate initiatives. Whether the Orange One is a larger, immediate threat to the country or long term threat to the people around the world is a matter for debate.

Wow that's crazy, Why has Biden let this get so bad? What a weak president. 4 years in and now we have the hottest oceans ever. A vote for Biden is a vote for continued rising ocean temperatures. Remember, under the Biden administration, the oceans are at a record high temp. We can't let this continue, vote Biden out in November.

LOL! You think that the effects of a century of worldwide CO2 emissions can be undone by a US president in four years? Of course, you are smarter than this, so I attribute your post to the t word that shall not be mentioned.

You're comparing a century of human emissions to millions of years of volcanic emissions? Do you know even major manmade structures like the Chinese Wall and the Hoover Damn cannot be seen from space? Man's presence on earth is insignificant. Climate change is natural and is certainly taking place as it always has.

There is not a century in earths history in which animals have not gone extinct both Bman and Aman. Smog in the US was pretty much resolved by the catalytic converter and smoke stack scrubbers as was acid rain. You need to move your data points further forward.

Wrong. The fish in the ocean weren’t wearing masks or social distancing.

Like hell. The little Ice Age was virtually over night bringing an end to the Medieval Warm bringing an end to what had been a golden age for most of the world. The three stage Permian extinction event appears now to have started with a massive meteor strike in the Antarctic that produced the Siberian traps volcanic event stage two wiped out most land critters world wide followed by most of the marine life in stage three and raise CO2 levels well above anything since the last Ice age.

It's a sad situation we're in. It's sad because it was preventable, at some point. Even now, even though there is no time to stop it, we could make what is coming a bit softer. Once more right wingnuts have been proven wrong. Propaganda is a strong force among those with a weak mind. And oil companies have spent billions fooling these people. So we will ALL pay for the consequences.

WE know it. And we have known this was coming for many years. Just like we know it will get worse! But those who live in a bliss won't know it until it hits them. And it will hit them HARD. But they will be the least prepared for it.

Global warming is caused by low taxes and a lack of government control.

And all we need to do to fix it is raise taxes, ban guns and air-conditioners and give the government total control. Right?

"The ocean"? which "ocean". Earth surface is over 70% water. Be specific.

So did man cause the extinction of dinosaurs? How many other species became extinct before man started using fossil fuels?

Why do you think that because things happen that man did not cause, that that means man is incapable of causing them?
