    The fact that so may US citizens were armed prevented a jap invasion of the mainland early in WWII. Good guy with guns have saved the day many times.

    The main point is that no one has to fear a good guy with a gun. It is only the bad guys with guns that liberals want to mollycoddle that people have to fear.

    Show me the stats on how many criminals have turned in their guns.

    I'm on your side. But you have to admit, the heroes in these instances didn't need Uzi's or assault rifles.

    I'm on the Conservatives' side about most Constitutional issues because I think the Constitution should only change with time if NECESSARY, and so many of the libs' ideas aren't necessary. But on gun control, I think that an extensive background check needs to be done, and it might help if a very quick psychological evaluation should be made by a qualified pro. Also, certain kinds of criminals shouldn't be allowed to have guns, if that's not already illegal.

    Don't have enough info on assault weapons, etc. to make a decision. :)

    Read a little WWII history. After the war several jap generals said they had no intention of invading the US mainland. They knew of course they would face our Army, but is things got really bad American civilians with all their guns would be behind every tree.

    A world without guns is impossible, until we develop laser beams or something I suppose....

    This is similar to having a "world without swords" a thousand years ago.

    Not only is it utopian, but it is flat out stupid.

    Some of them had the bloodiest single days in history, Cannae for example was absolutely ridiculous as to bloodshed.

    Humans kill people, not their weapons, it's the humans themselves.

    yet another stupid mischaracterization from the right about democrats. those bumperstickers really do work.

    Anyone who actually equates the desire for stricter and saner gun control laws with "democrats don't want gun ownership" is being ignorant, reactionary and or gullible. But of course when it comes to bumper sticker politics, facts need not apply.

    Yep even a simple well placed receipt from Dicks Sporting Goods will get the trash that previously refuse to be kicked to the curb leave while they still can do so vertically. Great equalizer. :thumbsup:
