Yes, that is what I am reading here in France as well. There are a couple hundred-thousand Brits who do not live in Britain and a good number of them are in France. Just an hour's ride on a boat from the "homeland".

Well, they don't go home for their healthcare, which is was once the finest in Europe. I've lived in the UK - and the healthcare then was just fine. But that was quite a while ago.

And, there are some French doctors who speak either English (or a semblance of that language) that attract the Brits and Yanks. That is, those Yanks who remain. For some reason that I cannot yet fathom, the Yank non-military population in the Europe is on the decline. The military population is around 64K still on duty in much of Europe. There is no longer a military threat from Communist Russia ... in fact, it is the Chinese (and North Korea) who have become more worrisome militarily to Uncle Sam. But I don't see China threatening a good trade-relationship with the US ...
