I wouldn't open carry.. not in human world, perhaps in the natural world. In the human world I just as soon have noone know I;m carrying I can palm my carry weapon, I like the option of total surprise, I've actually had it palmed when a State Trooper initiated contact ( he stepped out of the brush beneath a bridge I was using as a toilet). I set in to the hood of my truck.. Kinda suprised him! It should have bee a lesson learned for him.
Sure. Lot of things you should not do, and yet people do all the time. If you want to take your chances, then be my guest, but it seems you'll have to grow eyes in the back of your head, and behave like James Bond so you can avoid becoming a target. Yes, its nice to have the element of surprise on your side rather than the other side.
If you're armed but not taking basic measures like 1) making sure someone doesn't slip you a mickey and 2) making sure someone doesn't slip up behind you and knock you out, that's you behaving like Mr. Magoo. Taking basic precautions to be aware of your surroundings is not behaving like James Bond, nor does it require eyes in the back of your head. It requires being aware of what happens with your drink from preparation to imbibing and being aware generally of about 3 feet around your person IE the concept of what a kindergartner would describe as 'personal space'. Are you saying your proprioception is so poor that you cannot tell when someone is in your personal space?
Many people are quite aware of what is going on around them and can actually tell when someone is coming up from behind them, a person doesn't need eyes in the back of their head to see behind them, in the real world there are dozens of perceptions, some not even visual, that if paid attention to, provides a person with the ability to cover their front, flank and back at the same time. The trick is paying attention to the clues that are provided combined with a good amount of perception. Conversely I do know some people who are so preoccupied within their bubble they wouldn't notice they are about to walk off a cliff.
The Rolex robbing ladies are aware that a mans brain can become very primitive when they are looking for company, and they provide it. If you think you can't be fooled, then good for you. What do you need a gun on your hip for, - why can't you just use your James Bond skills and avoid the situations before they happen? And soon they will be sporting oversize revolvers on their hips while they do that. Well, that's their problem I suppose.
No lady slips anyone anything. Don't hang out with whores and you won't have that problem. No James Bond required, as stated. Avoiding letting someone slip me a mickey, or sneak up behind me and knock me out cold, does not imply that no conflict would ever occur. Rather instead it implies that if you're going to be able to use the gun to defend yourself, whether carried openly or concealed on your person, you need to know you're being attacked. But I'm sure you're perfectly safe hanging out in places where women slip you roofies just because you're carrying concealed.
They are not whores, they are Rolex Robbers. It happens all the time. Hollywood man drugged and robbed of $36,000 Rolex watch https://wsvn.com/news/local/hollywood-man-drugged-and-robbed-of-36000-rolex-watch/ HOLLYWOOD, FLA. (WSVN) - Hollywood Police need help identifying a woman accused of drugging a man and stealing his Rolex watch worth nearly $40,000. The theft occurred outside a Hollywood home at the 2200 block of Grant Street, at around 7 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 27. The 28-year-old victim, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said he met the subject at a party at the LIV nightclub in Miami Beach, where they barhopped the night away before ending up at his friend’s house. According to police, the woman was looking for more than just a good time. She had her eye on the gold Rolex the victim wore that night, which costed approximately $36,000. “As much as we want to believe that everyone out there is good, there are some people that aren’t good,” Hollywood Police officer Christian Lata said. “Just be careful because this could’ve turned out, like, a lot worse, like people could’ve been hurt,” said the victim. Why would they target me when I don't display anything worth stealing?
How many folks openly carrying are out barhopping? How many folks openly carrying have been drugged and their guns stolen?
He picked up a woman of loose morals at a disco, took her home to have sex with her, and got robbed. Real ****ing mystery how that could have happened, also a real ****ing mystery as to the moral character of the thief.
F-Bombs......tut-tut. Robbers typically are people of low moral character, but how would their targets know that until its too late.
Did you notice the address? 2200 Grant Street, that's a single family home that has been subdivided into 4 apartments, in a very sleazy area, we are talking $900 per month single bed units in an area where 80% of the people are on welfare or selling drugs or sex. Nobody and I will repeat nobody in that area would own a $36K Rolex unless they stole it, I might believe a $36 Timex, but not a Rolex of any price. And if she stole his "Rolex" why didn't she steal his Lexus or Beemer as well.. And if a 27 year old guy could afford a $36K Rolex, he would have his driver take him and his pickup to the Hilton over on 17 St, not a so called friends sleazebag apartment off of Dixie (Hooker) Highway, the story is BS and I am sure the HPD found it to be such.
Did you notice the article does not say that was his address, but that the robbery happened outside of that house. No, you did not notice, because you were too busy jumping into conclusions and accusing the victim of being a criminal himself. The article says it was a gift from his parents. It was a Tesla, and even a stupid thief knows they are easily tracked. This place you describe as some kind of ghetto is walking distance from the Hollywood restaurant district and about 5 min drive from the beach. Some detective work there bubba.....lol
People live their lives and hook up all the time, and not necessarily with prostitutes. What you are really saying is that you'll be fine if you lock yourself in the basement.
