... or attempts to...

We often don't think it's unnecessary to explain things explicitly because they are so obvious. But those who are so loyal to Trump to the point they believe everything he says apparently need the explanation.

Again and again, Trump has publicly excused actions with statements like "but nothing happened". As in,

"Zelensky wasn't being extorted because Ukraine received the money"

"Russia didn't intervene in the 2016 elections because the result wasn't affected"

"The Trump Tower meeting seeking dirt on Hillary was fine because they didn't get any dirt"

And so on... Tons of examples.

I'm sure before Trump, even these Trump followers understood that if a robber attempts to rob a bank, and they are caught inside before they complete the robbery, they still commit a crime. Same as if a rapist attempts to rape somebody, and the victims gets away before the act is consummated. Or if a terrorist places an explosive device on a plane and it fails to explode. Or if a forger attempts to pass you a fake $100 bill....

Would you feel comfortable if somebody said "They failed... so it's all good"?

If not then why do you have a hard time understanding, even if Trump's crime attempts fail, they are crimes just the same?

Not to mention, of course, that the corresponding laws include the qualifier "... or attempts to..."

I remember when I used to go to church. And the priest would read a passage and end with "The Word of God". That was acceptable in that scenario. No further evidence than "God said so" was necessary.

Is the answer to the above question simply "The Word of Trump"? Is that the reason why they are now comfortable repeating something that, if it weren't because Trump said so, they would never mention?

    You miss the obvious:

In this country attempting to commit a crime is not treated as remotely seriously as actually committing one.

Many times. A majority of those in prison are there for violent crimes.

Lemmingish response. In order to convict some one if a crime you have to prove intent. No one has as of yet proven Trump guilty of anything other than annoying the crap out of neocons and other leftists.

I don't "miss it". it's just not relevant. They are usually not treated the same only as it pertains to sentencing. But the criminal statutes are the same in most cases. A judge might sentence to the minimum prison term, but that doesn't remove the fact that it's a crime.

I think you should call for impeachment hearings.

How many times are Dems going to misquote statements to push their false narratives? Look, Shifty and company have been called time and time again using "parody" to misinform you of the truth...the obvious was the Ukrainian impeahment circus....when the trial finally took off, and the truth came out...it was just comical

Why you all let Shifty and Company make you look like fools?

What's funny about your response is trump behaves as if a President can only be impeached once. The way he's going since his puppet senate cleared him he's begging for another round.

That last line made no sense against the figures you handily provided that I then quoted.

    Yeah! That's another good one.

Anybody else have idiotic Trump defense lines to share?

They all show us how the most loyal of the Trump loyalists are no longer even trying to make sense. They just repeat what Trump says... no matter how absurd.

Done! Why do you think there was a blue wave in 2018? And Trump is desperately looking for ways to cheat in order to avoid another one in 2020. He might succeed. He better succeed.
