Oregon governor Kate Brown has signed a law that allows students to graduate without proving they can read, write or do math. The law had overwhelming Democrat support & is justified on the basis that it will benefit non-white students.

How crazy is that? It also reeks of racism.

 

Our country is so ****ed up lately.

Seems like the Governor was so proud of this bill signing that she hid it from the public and only disclosed it a few days ago…

We need to be pushing for higher educational attainment in this nation but it seems one side only wants to spend money on war machines or tax breaks for the ultra wealthy while the other side wants to blindly throw money at the problem without any real plan.

The United States will be an interesting case study one day

The idea is to hit pause on the requirements, in place since 2009 but already suspended during the pandemic, at least until the class of 2024 gets their diplomas and for Oregon to thoughtfully reexamine its graduation requirements in the meantime. A report recommending what the new standards should be is due to the Legislature and Oregon Board of Education by September 2022.

 

Only the current class and because of Covid.

 

How would they graduate if they aren’t passing?

 

All part of the lefts master plan-uneducated serfs are easier to control.

They did something similar in California.

California has been doing it for years.

Public schools are indoctrination centers, not educational.

 

You know, many years back, I think Clinton was still the president, a major heartbreaking story was presented on TV by Frontline I think it was. Anyway it was the story of a NY City black teacher busting her ass to educate black students. Her classes had no white students. She would inform the students, inform the parents, cajole the parents but nope, none wanted an educated black child.
The best of the black students was still a poor student. But she gave him good grades. She wanted him to get into college. And he got into college. But failed in college. See, she pampered him. His heartbreaking request of his teacher is please never tell the other kids you gave me good grades. He did not want to be an outcast.
It was so hard for him in College I do not recall him graduating there.

When children can't handle the fundamentals, College is out of their reach. Just not able to make the grade.
I wish I recalled what program it was on for sure.
