It's not about Trump, Hillary, or anybody else. The system has been broken and the establishment on both sides see the writing is on the wall as long as the public keeps pushing. The public shouldn't stop.
Actually it worked perfectly! Every state participated and the majority of states and counties determined the outcome and not two states packed to the nuts with nuts!
And right. Both sides were at fault. They both run the system. Let's not all fall into the low end fight that got us here in the first place. We the citizens need to understand we all were left out by both sides.
I don't want it to seem like I am a Trump supporter. I am not. But the establishment had to go. And I wish there was an alternative. I am just glad most citizens seem to be awake now. It is literally like the 60's again. It's time for everyone to stand up.
I'm in 100% agreement with each of the above statements. Trump is a direct result of the establishment not delivering for we, the people. Let's understand that fact and move forward in that recognition...
There was a lot of resistance to Trump from the RNC. This is true. The difference is that although there was some coordinated effort to stop Trump, the American people still got to decide their nominee.....not the RNC elite. The DNC, on the other hand, simply went through the motions of the nomination process. They had picked Clinton and no one, including the voters, were going to stop them from nominating Clinton. How anyone can still support the Democrat party simply based on that one factor boggles my mind. We don't even need to discuss all the other horribly dirty activities they were involved in.
The GOP waited too long. By January it was too late. They let him get the message out. And then the people spoke. It was funny to see all the top players go down.
We actually need more of this from local government in all states so they can respect we the people. Most of the local politicians aren't real professionals. They are just people who get grandfathered in because everyone knows them from high school or their parents have a legacy. That isn't for the people. They need to be voted out or removed from office. Take your town back.
You know that electing Trump had ot be a good deal when the Washington swamp was filled with DNC b'crats, and in a lot of cases Rinos that were against him. The people have spoken and the BS business as usual in the Washington swamp hopefully will be fixed.
Priebus had a lot to do with making sure the voters got to choose the nominee. He deserves a LOT of the credit for running a clean campaign.
Amen, brother. Well, most of us were left out. Each party takes aim at certain groups of us to try and stay on stop, and the result is a bunch of us with no ideal party to support in a two-party system.
We just need to be aware and take action at the local level next. Vote out the folks who have been around forever and haven't done anything for us. We obviously have the power!! Especially locally. We need all new city council members, and county clerks, and lawyers, and judges all over this country. Voting them out is the only way they will respect us. If not they will pay lip service like they always have.
Is there much of an issue at the local level to begin with? I think it's going a bit far to vote them ALL out, especially when there may not be a better alternative and the incumbents just might be doing a good job. I also wouldn't assume that there's something wrong with all of them, especially judges and county clerks
Good point. What I meant was we all know that 100% of them shouldn't still be in office. So whomever needs to go lets get them out. Trump isn't the best choice, but the best of what we had. And there had to be change.
Maybe people have just been in need of a reminder that they should pay attention to what their politicians are up to and that they should vote with care and conscience, that it's not good enough to vote blindly for a given party and sheepishly follow everything that party's politicians say. That's the real issue, I feel, is a general lack of civic-mindedness and participation in the political process. Too much ignoring politics in general and letting others worry about it. We can't really afford to have that in a republican or democratic system. People need to pay attention and participate.
They also got tired of constantly being called "racists!!" when they tried to simply question the teachings of Islam.
Well said. - - - Updated - - - There should be mainstream education regarding this type of stuff. People were being inappropriate in their questioning. So let's make it part of the educational process. That's part of the political BS too. They know most folks are uneducated about stuff then they go crazy with division.
Pssst. Trump is more 'establishment' than any of them but he learned to sound anti-establishment. You got snuckered.
I didn't get snuckered. His voters did. The only thing I am saying is there had to be a shake up. It still makes me sick that it was him instead of another person.
