America isn't suppose to be like Europe.

We even have our own form of English and use Webster's Dictionary not Oxfords Dictionary and the Queens English.

Even today many in the world hear "Americans" and they think of wild cowboys with Colt revolvers.

Even today 1/2 of Americans still have that wild west mentality and still possess that pioneer spirit that built America and made America great.

I remember crooked Hillary referring to them as "deplorables."

Remember the phrase "Ugly American" ?

Yet NATO exists to protect Europe from Russia, and Germany is helping fund Russia.

Therefore, NATO must not be needed.

Wrong, NATO exists that USA can keep its globalist agenda, control some of the most influential nations in the world and have influence on european politics to stabilize american imperialism.

No western european nation needs protection. Each western european nation is able to defend itself.

Majority of Germans want end NATO.

And no, we dont help funding russia. We buy cheap gas. Put your price on same level as the russians and we might buy yours as well. Im not willing to double my energy bill.

But, we do have a functioning military fully capable of protecting ourselves and our allies. Which of our detractors has that?

British PM: Trump got action at NATO

England is one of five of the 28 members of NATO who keeps the promise of spending at least 2 percent of their GDP on defense. Naturally the British are upset by the treaty violators.

President Trump called out the frenemies.

British Prime Minister Theresa May applauded him.

    May told Parliament on Monday.

"It’s something we meet and a limited number of other members of NATO meet, including the United States of America. Trump’s making this point about burden-sharing has made a difference.

"Just in the last year we’ve seen an extra $41 billion added to defence budgets across the NATO allies and there was a real sense at this summit, following the discussion that he initiated, that we would see people not just stepping up in terms of going to meet their 2%, but seeing that there was an increased urgency in doing this
    Good for Britain.

But why are we in NATO?

If Germany won't defend Germany, why should we?

We do defend Germany. We have a gigantic budget surplus. If needed we could raise our military budget by 400% from one day to the next without even noticing.

But is not necessary. We have Idiots who do it readily and as long this goes it will continue.

We have a saying in Germany: "The cow gets not slaughtered as long it gives milk."

Once you are not useful anymore, you will be cast aside.

Your Eurobuddies seem a little fed up with the German Clowns

German underspend on defence to blame for Trump tariffs.

Germany's repeated failure to meet the Nato two percent defence spending threshold is partly to blame for the US tariffs on steel and aluminium

    https://euobserver.com/opinion/141277

The United States has been Europe's only major reliable ally for at least a century. We rely on the US for protection from most dire threats. Competing centres of power already pose major geopolitical challenges and wait to pounce on any conflict between EU and US.

Without US, EU in its current form would cease to exist.

In this light, the EU's immediate response to president Trump's announcement on tariffs has been counter-productive, emotional, and lacking in strategic thinking.

Canada and Mexico have since secured an exemption, while Australia appears to get one soon.
Germany's FU attitude has not gone unnoticed.

    EU made bad situation worse

Instead, the EU response has resulted in Trump twice threatening EU with additional restrictions on cars should the situation escalate. No other country has been so threatened. We made a bad situation worse.

Reorganisation of international affairs and trade was president Trump's campaign promise. He pulled out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership & Paris Climate Agreement, threatened NAFTA, and blocked the WTO Appellate Body.

Trump won his campaign in states where increasing mechanisation, new technologies and imports decimated manufacturing. He is fighting globalisation and WTO's inability to stop China's state capitalism.

Steel tariffs are not about the EU, they are about US politics. Any real solution to them will also come from US politics.

Trump's target is Chinese steel and aluminium overcapacity. He is isolating the US from global effects of Chinese distortions.

The US commerce secretary observed recently that Chinese exports to third countries dislodge domestic demand, resulting in exports to US, adding: "Too much time has been spent just talking about steel overcapacity, very little time has been spent doing anything about it. We are taking the leadership to deal with this chronic overcapacity problem."

While the EU may dislike the approach taken by the US, China is a major challenge for EU industry.

Instead of a distracting trade confrontation with America, the EU should minimise its effects focusing on the real target: Chinese distortions.

The EU leadership generally dismisses president Trump. But US citizens, not EU elites, elect US leaders.

We owe Trump the respect we give the United States. Trump's 'Section 232' action is taken pursuant to a statutory mandate from US Congress.

EU retaliation list is shameful. As a US special prosecutor accuses Russia of orchestrating an attack on US election system by stocking political polarisation, EU – supposedly 'an ally' – attacks key electorates to obtain a political result?

The EU claims it is not the enemy. But the US claims that the destruction of US steel industry by imports – not the EU – threatens US security.

Let us imagine the unthinkable. World War III: missiles, bombing raids, submarines, torpedoes. Will Japan or Germany reliably supply the US with steel or aluminium?

When the US is responsible for world order, it is not up to us – given that we rely on US defence to guarantee our own safety – to question what US needs for its defence.

Trump can kiss our ass. We got an additional 0.8% economic boost. Our economy is in an eternal boom since 12 years in a row now.

We will build up our military when this party is over. Until then it stays like it is.

Why waste own rescources and soldiers when we have cattle doing the job for us?

You dont understand one thing. We allow nobody from outside to force us to do something. If you believe we raise our military to 2% because Trump wants it, then you are mistaken.

No they could not. Your soldiers would die for us. Better 1000 of yours than one of us.

Please send us a note in advance when this stops.

And no, Croatia could not. Even with our relative small budget, Germany still has place Nr. 10 military in world.

    https://www.globalfirepower.com/country-military-strength-detail.asp?country_id=germany

If we move our budget to 2% of GDP we would have 3rd strongest military in the world. And if we move it to 4 % we would be nr. 2.

But as i said, its fine like it is now.

It was already settled when Obama was in office.

Did you notice that Queen Elizabeth wore a green diamond and emerald brooch during Trump's visit? It was a gift from the Obamas.
