The black folks in the USA are, on average, poor, less educated and more prone to commit violent crime.

We need to help such folks, since it is not fair that one group of people suffer like this.

I therefore propose that we increase spending on more entitlements for blacks, better teachers for blacks and anti-crime education for them.

Blacks are just as deserving as the rest of us.

    Let's give em a chance.

we also need to end all tax breaks that help manufacturing companies leave the USA, and create Federal job creation areas that give low-skilled employers great tax breaks if they create entry level manufacturing and other jobs in inner city areas.

we also need to teach black people to pool their resources, to create more education, job training, and employment opportunities for their own.

and teach black people to create a culture that appreciates educational achievement, and frowns upon educational unachievements.

we also need to teach blacks to empathize more with their fellow man, reject extreme materialism, and create a culture of self-help and self-improvement.

We've pissed away trillions over the past 5+ decades doing what you are suggesting and what do we have to show for it? They need to clean up their own neighborhoods and fix what's wrong with their culture. If they don't care about education, it doesn't matter how good of a teacher you have in the classroom. It doesn't matter how much "anti-crime education" you give them. And more entitlements will be more disincentive to work.

No thanks. Progressivism is what caused this situation, more progressivism won't fix it.

the money was not spent correctly, nor was it targeted specifically at fixing poverty, under-education, in the black community.

Great, so we gave trillions of dollars to people who did not spend it correctly, so we should give trillions more to the same people so that they can hopefully spend it correctly this time. Great plan.

Because most of these kinds of social projects do. Many billions per year, over a long period of time. And if it doesn't work, then they'll just come up with another program and spend more.

This is far too exclusionary. May as we resurrect Jim Crow laws.

If a person wants to go to Harvard, their group membership shouldn't shut them out. Using your plan, there's no way a black person could ever have the money, and probably not the education, to ever go to a good university.

    Lame non-sequitur.

And who says it does? Most white people can't afford to go to Harvard, either.

Obama's children could go. If "there's no way a black person could ever have the money, and probably not the education, to ever go to a good university", then that wouldn't be true.

LBJ declared war on poverty in 1964.

More like your inability to counter my points.

    Here's your post, verbatim

    Here's mine:

I bolded the relevant portions. They appear identical. Can you clarify how I misquoted you?

You willfully and knowingly removed the most important clause -- completely changing the meaning.

You can't prove that every black person who ever went to Harvard only got there because of progressive redistribution policies, so your claim that "there's no way a black person could ever have the money, and probably not the education, to ever go to a good university" is baseless.

Lets test that. Since they are as deserving as you have you donated half your salary yet to help them?

hey, the poor are doing better, lets end all programs that helped them, triple the price of things the poor does for pleasure like smoking, then when things go bad claim it was the helping of the poor that made it all bad...

That's one thing I couldn't understand. The first thing Obama did, I think kit was the third bill he signed into law was raising the federal tax on the poor who smoked. Then he kept lying to the American people that he hadn't raised taxes on anyone.

I see these homeless, white and black and the only enjoyment they have is a cigarette.

Who keeps targeting the poor with sin taxes ?

I agree, this is one of the things many dems support that I disagree with.... extrema over taxing products you do not like is wrong....

a sin tax should be a set percent and apply to all items equally, the cigarette tax is ridiculous

It's going to take a more novel approach than that. I don't know what that approach should be.
