That is incorrect. You do not jump "off the record" simply because there are no recording devices in use. Journalists and those with whom they are speaking must both come to a mutual agreement as to whether a statement is on or off the record.

You will need more support for calling her a liberal hack compared to simply the fact that she works for NPR (one of the most non-biased news reporting agencies out there) or asking me to review her twitter feed.
