Whites had opportunities for hundreds of years before Blacks did. It is still not a level playing field. I think some Whites are just angry because they miss the old days of White supremacy.
I think you may be right, a lot of white people feel they will be victims of discrimination like people of color have been.
Exactly. I am a white male, 25 years old. I have spent 4-5 years working bad jobs for bad pay barely getting by. Most recently construction. I couldn't take it anymore so I studied for my GED and started college. I cant afford it so I am building a debt and borrowing from the government. I am now taking classes full time and working hard to get good grades. Exactly where am I getting an advantage? I have never gotten paid more for the color of my skin. I have struggled and now I am busting ass getting an education. I look around and see many people of all races in my class doing the same thing. I do not see where this "its easy for whites" incoming from? We all take the same courses we have all struggled (for the most part) to make money. What I do see is that someone of color who may not have as good of grades as I do and has a MUCH better chance at transferring into universities than I do. How am I at an advantage? Even if I get better grades? I am being disadvantaged for the color of my skin. I hear excuses.....period. There is equal opportunity...you just have to be willing to do what it takes to work that opportunity.
Really so we reward those that were NOT held back and punish those that had NO part in the holding back . What liberal law book was that written ? And if their parents were immigrants we still punish their children solely because of there whiteness ? And if the black happen to be an immigrant he still gets rewarded solely because of his blackness ? Now I really would like to know just how much guilt YOU have for what others may have done ? Perhaps you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth and had everything handed to you BUT most of us work hard to get ahead and think it's merit , hard work , and studying that counts , not RACE ! So you have to admit your a hypocrite OR you feel race should be a determining factor in hiring and admittance to college . How exactly do you guys get so screwed up in the head ? Discrimination is discrimination period ! DUH . Your notion of discrimination is repulsive just as much as it was 100 years ago .
I think black Americans and white Americans are more alike and even integrated than some realize. A former ambassador of a small African country once told me and a group of my colleagues that when a black guy from the states steps off a plane in Africa, that the Africans know at a glance that he's an "American," not a black American.
It's very true. Non-white groups are allowed to freely practice racism and segregate themselves. There's no societal stigma against a minority racist. Their racial identity is helpful with building a left-wing coalition of voters. There's no push to bring white people into non-white neighborhoods, but there is a push to bring non-whites into all white neighborhoods.
Yes the poor suffering Blacks like Will Smith and Spike Lee and didn't have anyone with their same racial features make the Oscars. What kind of affirmative action is required to address this injustice? BTW, list what "minorities" deserve more just by the virtue of their obviously inferior DNA?

Also, the lighter the skin tone, the more favorable the attributes associated with that skin tone. Hate Speech: False. Stormfront, VNN, FNN--primetime, the Council of Conservative Citizens are examples of "white" entities that exercise hate speech on a constant basis. Oppression: False. No non white in the history of America has oppressed the majority "white" group. Segregation: False. Segregation was not the idea of non-whites. Moreover, Segregation is execised by the majority group through exercises like "white flight." Manifestations of segregation of non-whites like the development of China-towns, ethnic-European enclaves or other separative developments are the result of exclusionary pratices of "whites." you see this is why this is such a problem specifically in the US. Everyone is so worried about being not racist or politically correct that the amount of fighting between both whites, blacks, and other groups has just gone through the roof. White people say that other groups dont have to be politically correct and that that's a problem, and other groups say that white people need to be politically correct because they havent been for about 200 years. For God sakes, if you see some guy who so happens to be black, disabled, and gay, you dont need to say oh look, an African American special women born in a man's body is walking by, just say he's a black disabled gay person. Its not like you are degrading him in any way, unless you use the term in a derogator fashion. I know that in French its not like that, un homme noir is not a very insulting term because its not used in an insulting manner. Equal distinguishing is ok, and should be ok, however, claiming a degree of non-existant superiority should not be ok. If someone says that there so happens to be a lot of white people that do something, that's ok, its not like youre saying white people are bad because they do that thing, however, if you say that because white people do this thing, it makes them dumb or something like that, then theres a problem
Very true. In the ghettos of Baltimore which I'm way too familiar with, the "N" word is used all too frequently and being gay is a mortal sin. But since they're black it's all good.....don't hear a peep from the left about those bigots. Oh yea same in "bankhead" Atlanta.
When you hear people say we need to kill some Whities and their kids, that's racism. There is a lot of that going on. A person is a fool if they think racism and bigotry is only one way deal.
