Because we have set up a system of government that requires a majority of the population to make some things legal.
I'm trying to understand. We've established that no person has the right to just up and kill his neighbor. But you claim that some people do. And they acquire this right how exactly?
Okay, so let's say that we have a woman who wants to murder her husband. Of course you and I would agree that she has no right to do so. We would also agree that no other person has a right to do so. But it seems as if you are saying that if a majority of the people ask a person to kill her husband then he would somehow acquire the right to do the killing. Am I understanding your argument correctly?
Yes if you could get millions and millions of people to agree to that to get the constitution changed to make that happen then yes he could acquire that right. Has that happened recently? LOL
I'm trying to understand. We've established that no person has the right to just up and kill his neighbor. But you claim that some people do. And they acquire this right how exactly? So nobody has the right to just up and kill his neighbor, but we all agree that we are going to ask someone to do so on our behalf. How does our asking him to commit such an act give him the right to do so?
Easy. We do it all the time in a democracy. We simply make a law that says this person can do it but you can't. Simple.
So "we" ask someone to kill our neighbor and because we asked him, has a right to do so. This is getting boring. I'm going to bed. Will resume in the morning.
So you don't have the right to kill my neighbor, and I don't have the right to kill my neighbor. None of us has such a right. But, if I ask you to do so, I somehow give you that right. A right I don't my self have. Now I understand the statist religion. Thanks for explaining.
No problem. If a homeless person attacks you everyday who do you call after the event? Do you have the right to imprison him? No.
Oh boy! Those with very small hands are going to attack you! <Mod Edit-Rule 2> (Yes, I have a couple rifles, but I don't worship them)
VG: "Not you alone. How are you not getting how democracy works?" Vegas doesn't understand that we're not a democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic. Benjamin Franklin said it best: "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote."
