Another thing that drives me crazy is how they misunderstand the quid-pro-quo aspect. I guess that from sexual harassment classes, people with little information assume that all quid-pro-quo is illegal. Not at all. It depends on the motivation, and whether or not the assets being exchanged are legitimate.

So, Obama telling his veep to pressure Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who failed to prosecute corruption in exchange for foreign aid: legal; the intent is to foster American foreign policy with no personal gain for Obama or Biden. Presidents do that all the time.

Trump telling the new Ukrainian president to dig up some dirt on his political opponent or else aid won't be given: illegal, the intent is to foster Trump's own political ambitions and it is also contrary to US electoral law, to enlist the help of a foreign dignatary.

Analogy for the "sexual harassment challenged" crowd to misunderstand in what circumstances a quid-pro-quo is illegal:

A boss tells his female employee: "Ms. Clark, I find you competent. I'm thinking of promoting you to be the head of this project that is very important to our bottom line. But the project has a looming deadline and would need overtime and late hours, for which you would be paid the going overtime rate. If you don't want to do this, I understand; we'll continue to count on your excellent professional skills in your current position, and we'll get someone else to head that project."

OK, that's a quid-pro-quo. It is legal. The boss is offering a promotion in exchange for (paid) overtime work and he is not putting the employee through any undue pressure. The intent is to further the company's business goals.

A boss tells his female employee: "Laura, I find you cute. I'm thinking of promoting you but you have to sleep with me. If you don't, I'll fire you."

OK, that's a quid-pro-quo. It is illegal. The boss is offering a promotion in exchange for sex. He is putting her through the additional pressure of threatening to fire her. The intent is to satisfy the boss' lust which is not a legitimate business goal.

So, yes, what Biden did (under his boss' orders) is a quid-pro-quo but a LEGAL one. What Trump did is also a quid-pro-quo but an ILLEGAL one.

Vice-presidents don't have the power to leverage foreign governments. What on earth gives you the idea they do?

You're claiming Biden did something illegal, and the Ukraine government just accepted it? No one bothered to call Obama? And what about Ron Johnson? He called for the firing of the prosecutor as well. Ron Johnson has actual control over funding. Biden did not.

Bring it on. Show everyone how foolish this QAnon freak of a freshmen representative is.

Biden has already signed EO's which have cost American jobs and income in the middle of a bad economy. He's been in office three days and the state of Texas is already suing him over immigration EO's for not keeping his oath to uphold the laws of the U.S.

Biden won't last long. It doesn't matter if his dentures are sparkly white and he acts like a "really nice" elderly man. He's always been an a$$hole who has done nothing but hurt people with his politics and legislation. He has a reputation as the dumbest man in D.C. and that was before his dotage.

What exactly are you calling "fake news"?

Every country leader in the world has a smaller workforce than one year ago, thanks to the globalists Covid panic so they can implement the Great Reset, enslaving the world.

Put a treaty or any legislation in front of Joe Biden and he won't have the sense to do anything but write his name on the signature line. That's what happens with people in mental decline. This country is in dire trouble.

Pray tell, how will he "not last long"? His term is 4 years. You may anticipate that being old, there is a possibility that he would croak before the end, but that's about it. Impeached and removed? Good luck getting it past the Democrat-controlled house, and even if you get the majority in the House in the mid-terms, good luck finding 67 senators to do it, because even if the GOP recovers control of the Senate, it won't be by a 67 supermajority.

Wishful thinking is interesting, isn't it? Here you are, convinced that there will be some way to remove Biden. Dream on.

And beware of what you wish. If Biden is gone, we get President Harris, and she is much more progressive than he is.

As for Biden being the dumbest man in DC, what does it say about your boy Trump, who got soundly defeated by the dumbest man in DC? LOL

Except businessmen.....aren't you one of those?[/QUOTE]

I am a businessman, however I'm not a lawyer or politician. From my experience, it's far easier to make money as an honest businessman than a shyster, but of course I've run across a few. I can say that they are the minority, but they certainly do exist. If I see them coming, they won't be doing business with me.

A lawyer has the position of playing his game against amateurs, which is why judges tell those pleading their own case that they have a fool for a lawyer- often going into court thinking the truth is all that is needed to win. Litigation is rarely a pursuit of justice, but of victory and money, but a set of easily contorted rules that often alter the visibility of truth and the access to justice. Sad but true, and reflects the character of many in that profession.

A politician on the other hand is playing three games. In one, he's a door-to-door salesman trading ambiguous promises that he can never keep for votes. In the next, he's trading favors with other politicians to bury each others pork in more important legislation, and then, selling influence (often relating to the pork) to big corporations that lack the votes to determine how they will be treated- so they must buy it. Now a smart voter would know that if influence wasn't for sale in the first place, there wouldn't be any being bought by those corporations. But the corporations know that if they don't pay, their competitor will- and they will get the short end of the stick. Most would love a situation where it wasn't necessary to grease corrupt palms to get a level playing field, but that's not how it works. This is why there are 20,000 paid lobbyists in Washington.

Now most politicians are lawyers, so we combine the totally adversary mindset and profit addiction of lawyers with the carnival pitchman and corruption of the influence peddler into one individual-and then we put 535 of those individuals in the same house, and call them "Honorable"

The charges will be abuse of power in the office of VP, disqualifying him to be pres. OF course, it's a futile move; just a sign that the road ahead will not be joyful and glorious- it will be more like Thunderdome and mad max... What comes around goes around. Phony charges have become the new rules in congress, now the people who made those rules may find that they too are subject to them.

We already have too many dingbats in congress, and I have no idea who in their right mind would have voted for them.

Hey, I didn't say anything about her being smart. But I'll bet Sarah Palin knows what an antenna is- AOC said she didn't know where that country (Antenna) was located.
While we question the intelligence of the growing number of dingbats in office, we are looking in the wrong place- we should be questioning the intelligence of the voters who put them there.

Trump's impeachments were not phony. Indeed, a majority of adults wanted him removed the first time according to polling. I haven't seen anything regarding opinion on this impeachment.

This nonsense by the Q isn't only a phony charge; it's an incredibly dumb charge. I'm disappointed it will never see the light of day.

The vice-president has only one power: President of the Senate. You can't impeach someone for abuse of a power that they didn't possess. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

    How's this for smart:

    Dear President Poroshenko,

...We similarly urge you to press ahead with urgent reforms to the Prosecutor General's office...

-- signed by Ron Johnson and other committee members.

Hmmm...I don't think they were referring to the janitorial service. We should call Johnson to testify. And Portman. Hell, let's call Poroshenko.

Opinion on this impeachment: 57% favor conviction. I saw this a couple of days ago. Didn't retain the link.
Yes, we can't expect any intelligent assessment of the situation by QAnon types. By definition they are dumb lunatics.

Thanks. A few points higher than last time, IIRC.

It doesn't take intelligence to know how the government works. It takes knowledge, which is generally learned in school. All aid and loans are approved by Congress and signed by the POTUS. The vice-president has absolutely no power over this, unless we see the unlikely situation where he breaks a tie vote as president of the Senate. That's it.

Everybody should know this. Victor Shokin knows this. The only possible path for this CT to flow is either a conspiracy involving the entire US government (and world), or claiming Biden conned the entire government to protect his son.

It's beyond dumb, as all of this can be proven, right now, with public record and reporting.
