    I have kinda turned on this issue.

    I think all semi-auto firearms should be registered under the NFA.

    that way we can temporarily seize the weapons if the owner becomes severely depressed, goes to prison, has tons of warrants, or is in some other way clearly not someone who respects the law, such as tons of moving infractions and unpaid parking tickets.

    lever action, bolt action, revolver, pump action guns should remain unlicensed and unregistered, including in NYC....which means LOOSENING NYC's gun laws.

    we would set up a system of appealing confiscation, so that a three judge panel would be required to order a seizure of guns and the appeal process would be FREE.

    Agree 100%. Guns did cause 533,000 death in 1999-2015.

    How about we actually implement the recommended security measures that can physically protect our kids and not keep pursuing a short-sighted and childish attack on the Constitution?

    you mean like arming all kids?

    who's gonna pay for an armed cop in every school in the USA?

    how about colleges, movie theaters, bars, restaurants?

    you want an armed cop in EVERY large venue in the USA? is that really solution?

    a society saturated with guns?????????????

    My kids have an armed guard when they are not in school. In fact, I am sitting outside the band hall, picking my kid up from school with a semi auto gun in my coat and there is a cop a few feet away.

    Spare me the histrionics. Cops are ALREADY in every large venue in the US!

    After the Beslan massacre a laundry list of recommendations of how to protect schools was released by a group of security and public safety experts. To date, NONE OF THEM have been implemented in this country, because of "educators" who say the recommendations are "too expensive" and they shouldn't have to be trained in proper security response, and kids somehow are going be "traumatized" by going to school under the watchful eye of properly-equipped security personnel.

    You want to protect kids?? Protect them the right way! It's not my problem you get "triggered" and have to run to your "safe space" at the thought of legitimate security measures.

    Gun control affects NO ONE but honest citizens. It empowers criminals! And my right to life and my right of self-defense is not subject to the whims of people who refuse to take responsibility for themselves and want a childish, nanny-state solution so they can "feel" safer!
