It might be, but not the other things going on within the Islamic religion that has already been pointed out. I sure wouldn't pass off the story of these training camps. It sure isn't like they haven't done things like this before in other parts of the world.

Believe it or not I’m with you here on almost every point you make.

I’ll even agree with you that not enough Imams’ are speaking out enough (in public) against the atrocities carried out by extremist who sadly call themselves Muslims (but are not)

What you don’t realize is that Muslims are extremely private people and that they “do” speak about these issues privately within their Mosques’ during services almost all the time. (ask me how I know)

I have read almost every bible and studied every religion there is on this planet many years ago when I was seeking to find “my place” in the world like a lot of young men do.

Personally I settled on the study of Zen because of its precepts and the way in which it appealed to me. No God, no Devil, No Heaven, No Hell.

The problem with the Quran and Islam in general (as I see it) is this:

Almost all of the negative rhetoric towards women and violent language in most bibles have been toned down by church leaders over the years looking to grow their congregations and make “their religion” more appealing to the masses.

Unfortunately (and I will admit this) the Quran has not been changed all that much in a very long time which unfortunately leads to crazies taking the more abrasive passages to heart and using them as a green light to do harm.

There are many beautiful passages in the Quran, and while many of them are all inclusive, some end with the words “except for Christians”, or “except for Jews”

Does this set up tensions and/or problems, yes.

But here’s the thing most non-Muslims don’t know or understand.

Most Muslims, and I’m talking 95% or better totally ignore these ancient passages and stick to the less vitriolic language of the Quran. (once again, ask me how I know)

To be fair, the other two books that also came from the book of Abraham also had a lot of the same language that demonized women and was filled with war-mongering talk against the other religions.

The tragedy here is that while at some point the Christian & Jewish bibles were toned down, the Quran was not (for whatever reasons)

As a result, people love to find the most vitriolic versus they can, and use them as fodder to basically slam the entire religion, and its’ just not right or fair.
