He would be none of this either.

The fictional charachter of Jesus would not be democrat or republican. He would not be liberal or conservative.

In fact he is rather a political.

    Neither side can claim him

Jesus's beliefs are more inline with Democrats. As we all know most Jews are Dems and liberals. If he was going to be a member of a political party he would definitely join them and NEVER would consider joining the antichrist Republicans.

His beliefs were not in line with democrats what so ever.

You obviously know nothing about what this charachter's beliefs were. As noted I never said his beliefs were in line with republicans either.

There isn't a preacher on earth who knows the New Testament any better than I do. Read up on his teachings that deal with the poor and learn something.

    I don't agree.

We read: “These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren” (Proverbs 6:16-19).

    That's partisan politics to a T.

Holy hell @ that ridiculous claim.

From the guy who must have skipped all the parts where Jesus was pro-life, anti-gay marriage, pro-capital punishment, etc, etc, etc.

If your enemy attacks and slanders you, that is a good thing. I see democrats attacking the tea partiers but I don't see them attacking rank and file moderate republicans who they control. The tea partiers are the only Republicans who actually fight back against democrats.

and love how Christians dislike Jesus when he doesn't support their cause... can't have it both ways

when an Atheist bring up a quote from the bible, should Christians accept it 100% as the truth? as the word of God himself?

I have read up on his teachings concerning the poor and he is 180 degrees polar opposite of the teachings of democrats and liberals.

Obviously even if you know what the NT says you are willfully ignoring the rottenness of democrats.

The Jesus charachter fed the poor and healed the sick directly and ASKED others to do the same.

Democrats and liberals take from others people at gun point and then re distribute the wealth to others who they subjectively think deserve itmore which actually means those who they can buy a vote from.

This is not compassion or charity or generosity of spirit nor is it found in any of the biblical lessons or examples of Jesus.

It is you who needs to learn something

Wealthy elites that you love create work conditions that take people's lives from them. In fact, young children often die in overseas factories that create sneakers used by athletes which generate millions in profits while employees make pennies in wages. That's theft and murder committed while your Republican heroes applaud deregulation and shipping jobs overseas.

So who are the real murderers and thieves???

Answer = your party and its supporters.

    Who are you talking to?

Wealthy elites offer jobs and no one forces people to work under any conditions.

" Young children often die " is a statement requiring evidence. Often could mean once a year.

IN most of those overseas countries where people make pennies in wages their lives are vastly improved by having any wages at all. Working in a sweat shop may suck by our standards but it is a long way better than starving or selling your children as prostitutes which is precisely the alternatives in such countries.

No it is not theft and murder at all it is in fact progress. We had the same conditions in the USA until we grew beyond them and no it was not the efforts of liberals etc which stopped it.

Not my party and nothing to answer for

If you know it so well, better than any preacher on earth, then you should be able to easily find passages where Jesus advocates secular *government* programs, since you are saying he would be a liberal today.

If you're going to make such bold boasts, you ought to back yourself up. What biblical passages put Jesus in line e I think modern day liberals?

    Render unto Caesar ....

Now find me a passage that says wealthy elites should spend the day counting their money instead of giving it all away to the poor. Also cite passages that validate Bush and Cheney's warmongering along with war enrichment such as that enjoyed by Halliburton.

You need to do some homework regarding the rise of unions in the USA and the role Democrats had under FDR and Senator Wagner in ending such terrible work conditions.

Hold on just a minute. Forgetting that he was talking about a foreign occupier, are you suggesting that Republicans will not give taxes to the state? Render unto Caesar is in no way intrinsically liberal, any more than it is conservative. You're going to have to do a lot better than that.

Well first, obviously, that's an uber-partisan understanding of what it is to be Republican, and second, I never said that Jesus was a conservative. I was not the one to make the silly suggestion that Jesus would be a political partisan if he were alive today.

To add to this,Remember when Caribou Barbie wanted to change the wording in the BIBLE!
Also I just bet with all the hurricanes we have had in this country & their extreme damage, all the people in the States that have been effected would really appreciate a person who could part & calm the seas....
Also I would appreciate hanging with a guy that could turn water into "WINE"
That is the extent of my combining religion with politics

Well...personally I don't give a damn about what Jesus might have done. If he even existed the fables, myths and miracles were made up by camel herders who believed in witches and thought the earth was flat. How about we all agree to get off this Jesus schit?

Oh! You're right about his politics. A Republican wouldn't give a dying man enough warm urine to take a pill. They invest all they've got in hidden off shore accounts and things which can not be proven by the IRS

Given the severe drought conditions in the western states, hanging with a guy that could turn seawater into fresh water would be enough. These states need a lot of it.
