The Garlic Festival was also a gun free zone. The murderer in Aurora CO drove by several theaters to get to a gun free theater.

That you don't know what an 'assault rifle' is kinda shoots down your rant. The AR-15 is a great gun for hunting smaller game. More accurate.

I can always tell a person that has bought into the false narrative and has little clues on what they are talking about when they use the term "Assault rifle".

Great point by Mr. York. It points out another logical fallacy from the left.

So again only single shot would be allowed in your world. And "ASSAULT" does not make it more deadly.

NO Western Civilized Nation allows civilians to EASILY obtain these weapons.........Hence the level of mass shootings is low...Yet the Gun Nuts in America worship these weapons, because of the insane paranoia and fear. The vast majority appear to angry white men

wow....you just can not seem to get anything right this morning.

    1. I do not belong to NRA. Never even had a desire to join.
    2. The AR15 has never been used in any "WAR"....at least none that I am aware of.
    3. The AR15 was indeed designed as a "Sporting Rifle".
    4. The AR15 was considered a "sporting rifle" at least 5 years before the Government suggested converting it to full auto (the M-16) and using that full auto version in a war environment.

Probably in a normal society constant exposure to violent video games might have an affect, but this is America. We're already about as violent as we're gonna get.

Possibly....however, it actually makes much more sense than the term "Assault Rifle" that is made up by clueless morons that know nothing about guns and want to scare other clueless morons that know nothing about guns into knee-jerk reactions that will not solve anything.

We are talking about semi automatic weapons also called auto loaders. When the trigger is pull a shot is fired and the next round is automatically (via either a mechanical or gas mechanism) into the firing chamber. The next shot is not fired until the trigger is pulled again. Semi automatic hunting guns have been used for decades.

That’s how they all function regardless of how they look. Magazine size is not a real issue. They can be changed in seconds.

Those who believe that the gun kills people don’t care about identifying the root causes and solving the problem thus saving lives.

First off... There is no such thing as an ASSAULT rifle. That is a made up word by the left to make it a scary gun. AR is merely the original manufacturer of ArmaLite Rifle. Colt, Bushmaster, Smith & Wesson all have variants of the ArmaLite model but all very in name but the uppers are generally .223 & or .308 calibers. .223 was and is considered a great varmint ammo and was used in the military as it was less lethal than the .308 which an injured enemy combatant takes not only 1 soldier from the fight, but 2 soldiers to tend to injuries.

psycho's gonna psycho regardless of weapon choice... would those victim's families feels better if the nutjob made a bomb from the ordinary household chemicals under nearly everyone's kitchen sink? or tossed razor sharp daggers into a crowd? or dropped a bag full of rocks off the roof of skyscapers? drove a stolen car/truck into the crowd? or any of a thousand other ways to commit mass murder & mayham? nope, the only concern of those outcries, is to disarm america & ban guns, period, it's not about makin the world safer...

The weapons used in the most recent attacks are not particularly "high powered." They are chambered in rounds on the low-end for hunting (7.62) or barely thinkable for hunting (.223). Most people with a deer rifle have a more high powered weapon.
