Good point. If you dont go along with it, you are killing grandma! 2 of my kids got stimi checks even though they made more money. This was never about helping those in need.

    Don't worry, you'll feel better after you're stimulated. :)

Seems your link is almost a week old. Power has been restored, water has been restored, people are back to work, stores have been restocking. And yep unemployment WAY down from last April. Look how long it took Biden when he was VP and it hit 10%, they said the stimulus would hold it to 8%, compared to Trump when it hit 14% when the governors started shutting down their states.

    upload_2021-2-23_18-19-1.png

It took Biden 4 years to get it back to where it is now after less than ONE year.

I don't want it and I'm on SS. Why should people on SS and their retirement savings get relief? Why should teachers and government workers who didn't lose a paycheck? Healthcare workers who not only didn't lose an income but where paid extra already? What about people who worked from home and made their paychecks every week?

    Yep.
And Biden's not going to let you do that to the economy again.

No, they are not. As usual, Republicans want money for corporations and the wealthy.
Republicans don’t think the middle class or poor NEED relief because, hey, they don’t pay taxes.
They also don’t want to give aid to states because they’ll just blow it on stuff like public education, yet another item traditionally way, way down on the Republican list of priorities.

Keep holding that fiscal line while people are getting sick and can’t work ! We’re rounding the corner !
    This pandemic will just disappear!

Well I can tell with certainty that the HYPE, rhetoric and frequency of the fear mongering has greatly diminished.. Even this site reflects it, well until the GOP members here remind the DNC folks of it :)

I think it might be because positive tests are down by 60%, hospitalizations down 60% and deaths down by 50%.
    But that's just my guess.
We are just holding our breath and saying you go Joe!

Yes they are and pressing for TARGETED aid for people who have actually been effected in their pocketbooks by COVID while the Democrats are more interested in shoveling billions to their pet groups and payoffs to unions and Democrat led states and cities.

Why do you keep ignoring the facts about COVID death rates and hospital rates and and the economy as I have pointed out? What relief does the middle class need when people are working and making their incomes in an expanding economy? Teachers have been paid all along and there are already BILLIONS allocated to schools they have not even spent and in the meantime since teachers are refusing to teach in the public schools let's pass the vouchers the Republicans have called for so the children don't suffer longer because of Biden and the unions.

The Democrats aren't going to allow it. The Republicans are already calling for it. Where do you stand it? Who are you calling?

The last one was slow because it was to small, not because it was to large.
Why was it to small? Because the R's got cheap all of a sudden.

Republicans should get on board with Biden's stimulus bill.

What stimulus bill? It is a spending bill intended to placate politicians and buy votes. It doesn't stimulate anything.

First, school vouchers are just another old conservative trick to hand out money to religious organizations and get their snout into the public trough. It violates the Constitution, but that's ok for Republicans and conservatives because it's their pet cause, the constitution be damned.

Second, as previously stated, the only people being TARGETED for relief by Republicans are the wealthy. Middle class people may be working, but not at the same pay levels as pre-pandemic yet their expenses (housing being the first on the list) have remained the same.

First you have not idea of what you speak if you believe it is only conservatives who want voucher and that they are ONLY for religious organizations, parents across the country are pleading for more options for their kids failing education. So cease with that bogus canard.

Second that you claim the ONLY people Republicans want to target for relief are the wealthy when in fact they want NO relief money going to wealthy people but to people who actually need relief because their employment has been affect by COVID. And yes middle class people are working and making their same incomes but feel free to prove otherwise and the Republicans are targeting the few who aren't.

Why should people who have worked through COVID and earned their same incomes get any "relief" such as government workers and teachers, you keep dodging that question.

I don't know. From what I read and heard, 900 billion is for covid relief, the other trillion for other things. It would be much easier to decide where on stands on bills like this if they were limited to what they pertain to. Covid relief and Covid relief only. Germane to the bill.

Everything else should stand by itself, whether it's college debt relief, raising the minimum wage or whatever. Congress always loads up these bills with stuff that probably couldn't pass in stand alone legislation. Both parties do this, so it isn't a knock on only the Democrats.

Right now, I really don't care. If it passes fine, if it doesn't, that's fine too. It just peeves me off that all this other junk gets added to bills that have nothing at all to do with the bill. That should cease. A Covid relief bill should be Covid relief only and nothing more. Adding one thing more to the bill is false advertisement and in my opinion, underhanded. Although both sides love doing this.

It was huge and even Obama had to admit all those shovel ready jobs weren't so shovel ready. But the typical Dem response the huge spending didn't work so let's just spend MORE. What works is putting people back TO WORK. Not subsidizing them to sit home and not work.

99% don't need relief what are you working on? I'm the one saying we shouldn't be doing relief AT ALL except for targeted persons whose jobs and income are still affected. And we still have the lion share of the December relief not even spent why are we passing more?

First, you ignore the truth of the matter: that Republicans and conservatives want to hand out money to private religious organizations via a voucher program. This alone is reason enough to never let it happen.

Second, the fact that the entire transportation industry, both public and private, is working at less than 50% of pre-pandemic volume shows you have no idea what you are talking about. And no, the middle class has taken the brunt of the salary reductions and hours reductions so they are not making anywhere near what they were making pre-pandemic. More proof you have no idea what you are talking about, again.

First you purposely misrepresent and make false and baseless assertions. The Republicans are "handing out money" to no one but the child. The money is the child's account and can be used at any certified school. It does not require or target religious schools.

Second you provide NOTHING to support your first claim about the schools nor here. GDP is on FIRE, consumer spending is up and above the mean average 2018-2021, https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/consumer-spending, the savings is at record levels and is ready to be spent WHEN BUSINESSES ARE OPENE again. Earnings are UP, hours are UP

Real average hourly earnings increased 4.0 percent from January 2020 to January 2021

we are hitting a record for unfilled jobs again.

Help Wanted: Why the US Has Millions of Unfilled Jobs
Many economists blame the skills gap for the unprecedented number of unfilled jobs in the US. But the labor market isn’t just lacking skills—it’s lacking workers.

Freight shipments are HIGHER that just before COVID hit, personal is on a strong recovery and will recovery more the more we open vacation spots again and business travel starts to increase again.

Stop listen to Joe "everything is BAD" Biden as he tries to put everyone into a depression preaching how BAD things are while he continues to do everything he can to makes things "worse".
