LMAO... did you READ that (interesting) article?? Please to point out where it says "Biden could eliminate the filibuster with an EO"??

    I'll save you time... it's doesn't...

    SNIP
Whether the Senate rules will change is ultimately up to the senators themselves. Biden knows as well as anybody that lawmakers bristle when the White House tells them what to do. But history demonstrates that with public opinion on his side, the president has little to lose in throwing himself into the filibuster fight—and the country has a great deal to gain.
    ENDSNIP

Yes, Joe should be railing against this stupid rule daily, but to the TWO people capable of getting it changed, it's falling on deaf (and dumb) ears...

Its not difficult to write a simple exception clause into the general rule for those edge cases which while less common do indeed exist.

Today 98% of Dem Senators voted for a national ban on abortion regulation by states (Joe Manchin was the lone dissenter). It seems that neither side is going to respect federalism's proper boundaries on this issue.

That's one way to put it....

The wrong way, but it certainly is one way.....

Joe Manchin is probably the loneliest person in Congress.... he's not human enough to be a true Democrat or repulsive enough to be a true Republican...

Also, Congrats to Schumer for getting this on the record.. It cannot be easy to schedule something you know is going to fail, but it's for the greater good...

EDIT - I did get a laugh out of this line from the CNN report on this vote

    SNIP
Sens. Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, rare Republican abortion-rights supporters, have introduced their own legislation to codify the rights established by Roe into federal law.
    ENDSNIP

If those 2 are abortion-rights supporters, I'd hate to meet the opponents...

Yes it sure was. I don't see any good reason why abortion has to be banned at this time.

Good, bodily autonomy is more important than federalism.

Nixon was from California. At the time of Roe v.Wade California had just about the most liberal abortion laws in the nation.

Absent brain activity (or in the case of our "blob of cells", the complete absence of a brain), there is no human life. Yeah, yeah, potential human life, blah, blah. There is "potential human life" killed every time I jerk off.

That's ridiculous. Sperm alone can never grow into a baby.

You probably shouldn't be "jerking off" anyway. Anyone can stop doing it if they are determined to do so.

Really .. and how does that work .. how does that make good justification for law Dayton ? .. I didn't have you pegged for such a hard core liberal Socialist .. collectivist to the core .. Your idol Biden would be real proud and quite accepting of fallacious utilitarianism .. as justification for law .. all the extremists love that justification .. those who year for unlimited Gov't power ...

How is Biden my idol? Have I ever posted a single thing positive about him? Pretty sure the answer is no.

And regarding government policies I have a pretty much practical streak.

    1. So the SC disagrees with the SC. Hmm.
    2. Yes, the 2A can NOT restrict bearing arms.
    3. Yes, growing weed is restricting the right to privacy. And the right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

    You don't deserve Joe Manchin.

Roe only guarantees abortion on demand for 13 weeks. Dobbs is not only more permissive at 15 weeks than most of Europe and all of France, it's more permissive than Roe. Dobbs is a Pro-Choice standard. Only a radical absolutist would call 15 weeks of unrestricted abortion and "anti-abortion" regulation.

Showboat Schumer's Show Vote on Radical Abortion Bill Goes Down in Flames. Too radical for even Murkowski and Collins.

"Schumer has repeatedly shown his ineptitude when it comes to leading Democrats in the upper chamber, and he did so again in spectacular fashion on Wednesday afternoon. In what he seems to think was a grand gesture to prove his party's commitment to a woman's birthing person's right to kill her unborn child only put Democrats on the record supporting a bill that's more radical than Roe ever was."

The "failed show vote to prove Democrats support radical abortion rights that go beyond what even most pro-abortion Americans support."

The filibuster against the vote held with bipartisan support.

And had the filibuster been broken he didn't even have 50 votes to pass the bill.

"MANCHIN: "Make no mistake. It is not Roe v. Wade codification. It's an expansion. It wipes 500 state laws off the books. It expands abortion."

The Conscience Of The Democrat Party.

"The legislative vehicle for Schumer and Democrats' plan, which Speaker Nancy Pelosi previously passed through the House of Representatives, does far more than "codify" the right to abortion manufactured in the Court's decision in federal law. The "appalling and extreme departure from the current status quo" the bill Schumer pushed to a failed vote on Wednesday would be:"

"The Democratic bill would make elective abortions legal across the entire country for all nine months of pregnancy eliminating all existing state-level regulations (including lopsidedly popular ones), gutting conscience protections for healthcare workers who don't want to participate in abortions, allowing non-doctors to perform the abortions, and forcing taxpayers to finance all of it. Short of endorsing post-birth infanticide or instituting CCP-style compulsory abortions, it's hard to imagine a more extreme piece of legislation on this issue. Dressing this up as "codifying Roe" is astoundingly dishonest, yet it's mindlessly -- or perhaps not so mindlessly -- repeated by journalists, ad nauseam."

"Americans overwhelmingly support commonsense pro-life protections and limits on abortion, but Democrats are doubling down on taxpayer-funded, unlimited abortion on demand up to the moment of birth," McDaniel said. "Voters will hold Biden and Democrats accountable for being radical, cruel, and anti-science come November.”

Every time a Democrat Senator tries to showcase moderation, except for Manchin, they are dumb enough to follow Schumer right off a cliff.

Fake News. Biden possesses no such power. Is the Atlantic really this stupid? How come you didn't catch that obviously false contention?

Oh crap. Ok, the Atlantic isn't quite that dumb. They seem to think that Biden, by the force of his popularity and the overwhelming support of the American People could use the bully pulpit to bully the Senate into end the filibuster. What the hell planet are they on?

'He's lost it': President Joe Biden starts screaming about food

"He's lost it. Biden starts SCREAMING about food shortages... which are currently happening under his administration."

    "He’s really pissed at himself!"

"I wonder if he yelled at Corn Pop that way."

    "Who’s he yelling at?"

"President Joe Biden refers to Donald Trump as ‘the great MAGA king’"

The Country does not support Biden or the Dems extremist agenda. Neither Biden nor Schumer possess this supposed popularity and support to bully the Senators into dropping the Filibuster, especially given that Dems are in their final weeks in the majority. Biden and the congressional Dems are complete failures, except for Joe Manchin, and too dumb to pivot they just dissolve into floor kicking tantrums.

Even Biden isn't currently stupid enough to think that he could end the Filibuster with an EO, but, let him decline for a few more months, and who knows?

Yes that's true. At that time, a majority of the people welcomed abortion and it was right at the time. We've had almost no problems with until Governor Abbott of Texas decided different and the majority of people wouldn't go along with that decision. Perhaps Trump had something to do with it as part of his make America great again. Making AMerica great for Trump and no one else. Trump believed that making Abortions against the law was probably part of Making America Great again. I would not agree with this and Abortions should be discouraged and not made illegal in all do respect. It would be wrong to outlaw abortions at this time. That's all for now.

You love Biden's ideology - fallacious utilitarianism .. collectivist totalitarianism .. absolute Gov't power. Like Biden you hate the founding principle - constitutional Republic - republicanism/classical liberalism - the rule of law .. principles of Justice.
