    Huh?

IF you are referring to Mark David Chapman (John Lennon's Killer) you are WRONG.

    Chapman is STILL Incarcerated:

    • 2020: Denied for the eleventh time. Officials said he was refused parole as "it would be incompatible with the welfare of society". According to the tapes acquired by ABC News he sought glory in killing a member of the Beatles.

    • 2022: Chapman's twelfth parole hearing is scheduled for August

    Why are you posting BS?:bored:

Parole recommended for convicted RFK assassin Sirhan Sirhan

Two of Kennedy's relatives sent letters in support of Sirhan's parole.

    What do you think?

I think the bolshevik-democrats took both Kennedy's out along with Martin Luther King, and now they are freeing Sirhan for optics because they are afraid that Elder will win the recall.

Pretty much the same thing I thought yesterday when seeing the thread on it then.

What a conundrum for Newsom, free the assassin who killed a Democrat who was likely to be elected president, or keep a poor old POC in prison....personally I see no political advantage to Sirhan's parole, BUT being California who can say? :confusion:

So, what do you think it's really about if not some political advantage? I think the article said he's in his late 70s.

And the problem with that (and I don't disagree with the reality of it) is that parole boards are often insane liberals appointed by insane liberals who let way too many criminals out except the especially notorious ones that might put undue heat on the parole boards. So they keep the famous ones in jail and let out most of the rest. Unfortunately the public finds out about this when the parolees commit similar crimes and we wonder why they were allowed out in the first place.

    Afraid?
    Of What?

Elder has ZERO Chance to Win the Recall. None.

Any possible release is still months away.

The latest decision by a Board of Parole Hearings panel is now subject to a 120-day review by the board’s legal staff, during which the case may be referred to the full board for further evaluation before a final judgment is rendered.
The California governor then has 30 days to reverse the board’s action or let it stand. That process would most likely put Sirhan’s fate in the hands incumbent Governor Gavin Newsom, a first-term Democrat, assuming he survives a recall election set for September.

I said I saw no political advantage to be gained by his parole. I sometimes glean reasons for Republican machinations, with Democrats there's sometimes no apparent rhyme or reason. Misplaced "compassion" for his age would be the more palatable answer.

He was convicted 53 years ago.

Maybe not you, but society has changed a lot since then.

I am against the death penalty.

The U.S. is one of the last democracy to still have it.

Is he a threat or a danger to anyone?

    If not, let him out

For the parole board its not emotion, its self preservation! When its a beloved public figure that's the victim, or an infamous trial (OJ Simpson) up for review, the general public act as though its an affront to them, because they decided to get emotionally invested in the trial. If we followed the proceedings like a soap opera , identified with the victim, we are entitled to be treated like a grieving father or daughter.

    And then, there's this:

Six of Kennedy’s nine surviving children said they were shocked by the vote and urged Gov. Gavin Newsom to reverse the parole board’s decision and keep Sirhan behind bars.

"He took our father from our family and he took him from America,” the six siblings wrote in a statement late Friday. “We are in disbelief that this man would be recommended for release.
The statement was signed by Joseph P. Kennedy II, Courtney Kennedy, Kerry Kennedy, Christopher G. Kennedy, Maxwell T. Kennedy and Rory Kennedy.

Aren't you concerned there are at least THREE threads on this now?

But anyways, as to the actual topic, he should die in his cell.

    A. Are you clairvoyant? Folks said the exact same thing in 2016, about Trump.

    B. You just affirmed my claim.

This is being done to paint Newsom as a puppy-loving liberal that cries when a puppy whimpers, but shrugs when a Muslim beheads a human, because they know that Elder would never contemplate releasing a killer (of a U.S. Presidential candidate no less), to walk free among the public - as no sane person would.

Not sure that really shows the need to keep spending 81,000 per year housing this person.

Not really. A past action does not dictate future ones.
