I don't believe that a single Democrat believes that no criminals are crossing. Perhaps these skimmers are just undocumented bankers!!!

Nope, no one is saying that and you know it. what we are saying is that we have enough home grown mopes without having thousands more felons. we all know that Democrats love illegals coming here because even if they cannot be snuck onto the voter roles, their presence in blue states add congressional seats and EC votes and their offspring are far more likely to vote Democrat than GOP

 

This sort of thing has been going on for years all over the world....but now its somehow the result of US border issues. Another reminder that the people who pump out this propadanda justr assume their intended audience is too stupid to know or too committed to the lie to care.

I think it is barely relevant at best. This sort of technology doesn't need to sneak over the southern border. Never did. Either you are capable of understanding that and choose not to or you are not capable of understanding that. Functionally identical and equally worthless for an intelligent discussion.

I actually met a Romanian scammer in prison.

He took a plea bargain and agreed to plead guilty, in exchange for only 1 year prison. It was either that or he would be in jail longer (like 14 to 17 months) waiting for his trial. (Oh he was definitely guilty though! I'm sure had scammed 10 times more money than they actually knew about)

He had been in two other countries in Europe for a couple of years, running his scamming, before finally deciding to come to the U.S.

He said he had built up enough money that he could afford to retire (probably back in Romania, where life is cheaper). I'm sure the money was somehow hidden, of course. Maybe in bank accounts with alias names so the government couldn't find it.

He of course wasn't the least bit apologetic. In his mind that was just how the game was played, how life works. He justified it by saying the bank ends up paying for it anyway, so it was really like he was just scamming big banks.

He looked about 52 years old.

As part of the terms of his plea bargain, he would be deported after serving his sentence and had to agree never to return to the U.S. He didn't consider that a big deal because he could go on scamming in France for a few years, and he was close to "retirement" anyway.

Sadly there were several others in the prison who had committed crimes much less bad than him, who would go to serve more time behind bars.

Whew! I'm glad I don't use debit cards and equally glad I still pay by written check at the checkout. I'm old fashioned but safe from this scam.
