The Russians Fighting Putin in Ukraine
    Amie Ferris-Rotman
    Fri, April 8, 2022, 11:06 AM

A war within a war has emerged in Ukraine. More than a month after the Russian army invaded on the order of President Vladimir Putin, more and more Russian nationals are fighting alongside Ukrainians.

The combatants, who appear to number in at least the hundreds, describe Putin as the enemy, even as they take up arms against their countrymen. They range from captured Russian soldiers to political dissidents like the 30-year-old Russian who asked to be called Yan, an IT worker who now spends his days scouting, identifying potential artillery targets and bringing medical supplies to Ukrainian soldiers on the front.

“No Russian should have crossed the border with a weapon in his hand,” Yan tells TIME from a district near the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, where he has served in the country’s territorial defense forces since the war started at the end of February. “I am here to oppose Russian aggression and also defend Ukraine.” He produced a valid Russian passport but requested the pseudonym out of fear for the safety of his family in Russia. He said he moved to Kyiv from Russia’s Ural mountains three years ago, fearful of imprisonment after his office was raided. A self-described anarchist, Yan had taken part in demonstrations against Putin’s rule.

He gambled and lost bigly. He must have figured that taking Ukraine for his USSR 2.0 would be worth risking these things happening, but one wonders whether he considered the consequences of losing that bet.

Ukraine is expert at war crimes...been doing it since 2014.

This French journalist does good work....but it doesn't fit the West's narrative.

At 5:35 she makes it personal

Anne-Laure Bonnel is a French war correspondent and documentary film director, primarily known for her 2016 documentary Donbass and for her 2020 documentary Silence dans le Haut-Karabagh.[1][2][3][4] In March 2022, she was accused of relaying Russian propaganda about the Russian-Ukrainian conflict[5] by mainstream media and WEF officials. Her coverage on conflict in Donbas region was flagged as fake due to misinterpretation and misleading statement on number of deaths and casualties. On French conservative 24-hour news channel CNews, she said 13,000 were killed by Ukrainian authorities, the information was fact-checked and debunked by multiple French media. While the Wiki page War in Donbas states that the war has killed around 13,000 people this number refers to casualties on all sides. StopFake.org stated her documentary movie was referencing messages used in the Russian propaganda.[6] She claims teaching news media coverage issues and the writing of documentary films at the Institut National de l'Audiovisuel, at the École supérieure de journalisme de Paris and at Sorbonne University.[7]

What truth? She just makes proven false claims and offers no evidence, same as your other fake news propagandists.

There is a lot going on behind the scenes here. You all need to go back and watch "The Fog of War" documentary with Robert McNamara. There is little room for error.

Bill - It seems like Russia is preparing for the biggest battle since WWII. There are anywhere from 60 to 100 thousand men on both sides. Seems to me and to others, that Russia wants to take Odessa and open a corridor to Transnistra before May 9. That's the day they celebrate their defeat of Nazi Germany in WWII.

In the meantime heavy arms are being sent to the Ukrainian forces, especially by Britain. The question is how is Britain going to get the arms to the Ukrainian troops, when they're trapped by the
Russians? The only way would be to break the blockade of Odessa, but didn't Turkey close the straits to foreign warships?

Also Britain wants to use Harpoons to attack the Russian ships, but Ukraine doesn't have the means to use them so is Britain planning to enter the war? What happens when Russia sinks the British ship?

Hey Britain, how about giving it up. You keep provoking and acting like a super power, but you're not.

Harpoons can be mounted on a truck:

A harpoon fired from Odessa can reach western Crimea. Harpoon fired from Skadovsk, Kherson region, could easily reach Sevastopol.

Yep. Those are the only sources they understand.

Could you do me a favour? Billy demanded that I post a faked up propaganda video by his persoinal favourite, Patrick Lancaster. Billy claimed he had already seen this and was apparently fine with it. When I posted it, pointing out that the corpse at the 48 second mark was clearly autopsied before it was put in the car, Billy refused to reply.

I think he has me on ignore now.

Can you show him this and ask him why he won't reply? Maybe we can make it a team effort. I sorta want to see how many people he will refuse to engage about a video he demanded I post.

The Brits were a force to be reckoned with a couple of hundred years ago but since then = :roflol:

The only thing they are good at is running their mouthes. If they do have a ship in the Black Sea and approach the war zone, it will be sunk.

The Russians are methodically moving forward, eliminating Nazis and other military targets. It won't be long and the Nazi crew that launched the tochka-u with cluster bombs into Donetsk killing 27...which is probably the same crew that just hit the train station with another tochka-u with cluster bombs....will be wiped from the face of the planet. If the Russians could get these guys away from the civilians they use for human shields, I'd expect they use American tactics, like carpet bombing.

I would love to see a few of those send that Russian fleet that is sitting off shore to the bottom. Russia can barely land troops now. Sink a couple of ships & any threat to Odessa is over.

Yes, he should! Had he right from day one used his fists, it would be long over and much less dead and damage.
    Craig Roberts himself writes...

"The war underway is a propaganda war, and the Kremlin has lost. The Kremlin’s inability at psyops makes Russian military superiority almost pointless.

Washington’s wars are conducted ruthlessly. Everything is bombed and blown to pieces, including weddings, funerals, kids’ soccer games. The West doesn’t understand war that doesn’t blow everything up. What Russia could have accomplished in 3 days is now in its 41st day. The narrative of Russian aggression is set in stone, and the Russian military has been made to look ineffective. The chance to end the provocations with quick and decisive action was lost. "

That the West reacts so cocky and aggressive, tells me they hold the last trump card.

The Russian soldiers have been going into homes and rounding up the Nazis in the freed areas so they could hold their own Nuremburg style trials. I know Putin has what he calls his White Books packed with testimonies of their atrocities going back to 2014 when they were given the green light by Nuland.

You sound so positive! But doubt is creeping right back... you forgot Canada, New Zealand and Austria, all helping England and the Queen. Especially Canada is already gunge ho at it!

The only nation that can battle Russia militarily is the US, and it's not going to be. The other nations are all worthless. .

Right now, if Russia went to war with Italy, I'd back Italy. The Russian Army seems utterly incapable of killing anyone but civilians at this point.

The Ukrainians are getting the **** stomped out of them, slowly but surely. What ought to wake up the peanut gallery is the fact that the Ukrainian military was trained by the US to US/NATO standards. Basically Russia is beating NATO troops.
