What's the penalty if they're caught doing so?

they can't do it so, because the prices are in roubles, and office computers calculate roubles only.

So the guy who owns the shop, he can't offer a price in dollars? He can't use a computer to calculate anything but rubles. What happens to him if he does?

I have no idea what a costumer might supply (other than Halloween masks). Tourists would have dollars.

He doesn't accept dollars, because the customers don't have dollars. Except tourists do, but they are asked to pay in rubles ... because he doesn't accept dollars.

Seems like a business opportunity for someone...

Putin signed legislation Thursday to limit risks against the dollar with the installement of a floating currency against those they actually trade with instead of the dollar. Russia doesnt care what the Ruble is doing against the dollar and is looking at long term stability of Russia's economy. Once China, Russia and India have drained all the Wests gold at bottom basement discount prices they will sell off our debt and crash the dollar.
It makes no difference what the Ruble is to the dollar, they arent using it.
" Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Russia wants to shift to national currencies in trade deals with China and other countries, implying a shift away from the U.S. dollar.

"In the future we aim actively to use national currencies in energy resources trade to settle... international trade accounts, with China and other counties," Putin told an investment conference. "In using national currencies, we see a serious mechanism for curbing risks."

Which appears to be strengthened this morning...

DISCLAIMER; >>>>Only if a 'video' is the only information source available, I do not usually view them for several reasons the most important being they are so difficult to source the material contained therein for accuracy. Also l have found embarrassingly so, they are very often a very unreliable information source.<<<<<

I agree with Joe. Putins currency problem is just another face of the demon. If you want you and your family to survive ignore the TV or personal economist! They obey masters other than you. You are their host they are the parasite. Most have a self-serving or boss serving* interest. It doesn’t matter if it’s the ruble, the euro, or the USA dollar. If we are discussing fiat currency we are discussing funny money, worth far less than its purported to be. The cRich* are parasites and enemies of mankind as much as are the rMuslims who behead for nothing more than show. Let me modify or add to that? The sub-human fools that do the beheading think its for show (terrorism), in reality they are satanically influenced, and it is that being that they serve not an non-existent Allah. inter reply NOTE* I use prefixes in attempt to shorten my already long replies etc. For example rIslam means radial (extremist) Islam. cRich means the greedy rich who commit criminal acts, positive or natural law to sustain their greed.
I don’t know if the banking system will crash like a house of cards or if it will be a slow death that looks like a fast wasting disease, killing off the poor first then the middle class and working in a trickle up fashion. All I know is that its already here and has grown in the slow death way since the early 1970s.

So what can Putin or Obama do to stop the rot? Oh its real simple but its not easy. Reestablish some sort of collateral for fiat money. Encourage or if the survival of a nation is at stake force some saving. If enough like that (and more) I s done yesterday the world or nation that employs that advice may just beat the wasting disease that is more lethal than Ebola, the physical disease that has over an 90% mortality per incidence rate. Hopefully Putin will put his nation on a healthy spiritual as well as physical path as will the other nations on this beautiful space ship earth. This reply is garbled a bit so please ask if you would like me to clarify.

God bless this forum and the members that accepts such grace.

Crazy! Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon now presides over the UN Security Council. This means, in effect, that a terror organization presides over the body entrusted with guaranteeing the world's security. You couldn't make this thing up.” Benjamin Netanyahu
