"West’s sanctions on Russia “erroneous”: China
    October 11, 2014, 2:48 pm
Bilateral trade has already grown by 6.7 per cent this year compared to the same period last year [Xinhua]
Ahead of the annual Russia-China Heads of Government meet, China’s Vice Premier Wang Yang on Saturday said Western sanctions on Russia were “erroneous”.

“China opposes the West’s use of sanctions to exert pressure,” Wang was quoted by Russian news agency Ria Novosti.

“We are certain that despite external factors of instability, the Russian people will be able to show determination and patience to overcome all sorts of current difficulties,” he added.

The US and the European Union announced new sanctions in September to punish Moscow for its alleged backing of separatists in eastern Ukraine. This round’s sanctions targeted Russian state-run and private oil and gas companies, including Gazprom, Rosneft, Transneft, and Lukoil.

Earlier in September, China put its weight solidly behind Russian President Vladimir Putin’s seven-point peace plan for Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Vice Premier on Saturday noted that bilateral trade has already grown by 6.7 per cent this year compared to the same period last year.

“China is willing to export to Russia such competitive products as agricultural goods, oil and gas equipment, and is ready to import Russian engineering products,” Yang said.

Meanwhile in Berlin, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said Friday he expects China to register economic growth of around 7.5 per cent this year.

China can keep its economic growth rate within a “reasonable range,” he told over 600 officials and business leaders at a China-Germany economic and technological cooperation forum.

A pace around the 7.5 per cent target — whether slightly higher or lower — will be acceptable as long as employment is guaranteed, household income raised and efficiency improved, added the premier.

After a stint of double digit growth, Chinese leaders have said they are willing to settle for a more sustainable expansion in consumption.

The Chinese Premier will reach Russia on Sunday for a three-day visit during which he will co-chair the 19th annual meeting of the heads of Government with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev.

The two sides “will extensively discuss priority issues of Russian-Chinese cooperation in trade and economy, investments, energy and culture. The documents to be signed include a number of inter-governmental, inter-agency and corporate documents on various aspects of bilateral collaboration,” said a Russian government statement.

The meet on 13th October will be attended by over 20 Cabinet members of the two countries."

sure, you forgot just one detail. niche products for niche countries like Libya and Sudan. and you know why, cos no one with name, reputation and respect ´ll supply Sudan with jets and bombs . and all your exports (except gas-oil) bypass mainstream markets

Uhhh Litwin, you should read something other than the CIA paid press. Maybe something like the following. One has to wonder how an Empire without scruples would respond when its hegemony is being threatened? You do know the US treasury is run on a Ponzi scheme that depends on the dollar? :
    :confuse:

"...Russia and China, the two strategic Eurasian nations, are moving clearly to ultimately break free of the stranglehold of the Dollar System. On September 10 high-level talks took place between the two countries discussing establishment of an interbank money clearing system independent of the US-controlled SWIFT payments system. If enacted it would represent a major step in being able to defend their economies from Washington’s newly-developed weapon of financial warfare against a country that does not behave just as certain powerful circles want..."

"...Prime Minister David Cameron’s government proposed that the EU escalate its Russia sanctions warfare by blocking Russian banks from SWIFT clearings. Were that to happen, it would be tantamount to a declaration of full economic war between the EU and Russia. The consequences for the EU would clearly be devastating, something Washington or leading Wall Street circles would, no doubt, chuckle about in a kind of Schadenfreude. Already US-imposed EU sanctions against Russia have begun hurting the German economy significantly..."

"...Parallel to these moves to decouple from the chokehold of the dollar system, Russia and China are negotiating agreements to conduct major energy trade in their own currencies..."

"...The world is nearing a decisive “tipping point” economically and financially and the creation of a joint Russian-Chinese alternative to SWIFT would add a large nail in the dollar coffin. Washington and Wall Street are unlikely to accept that nail without responding. We are in a new era of global warfare since the US-financed Ukraine coup of February, 2014.
    .."

"...F. William Engdahl is strategic risk consultant and lecturer, he holds a degree in politics from Princeton University and is a best-selling author on oil and geopolitics, exclusively for the online magazine “New Eastern Outlook”
    ..."

Sure, the caviar belongs to natural resources too as it is produced from the fish that is caught in the ocean and sees in Russia.
17 millions here, 20 millions there etc. Overall-no so bad. As for technologies, my company in Germany works in close collaboration with NT-MDT company in Russia- this is one of the largest companies in the field of Atomic Force Microscopy. They export their high quality producst everywhere, including Europe. The second largest company is IPG photonics, which was established initially in Russia and now spread over the world (in Russia their web-site is http://www.ntoire-polus.ru/). They make the best high fiber lasers in the world which are used in all areas of industry, and export them everywhere. So Russia sells not only the natural resources.

The Russian ruble fell to new record low against the dollar and sank against the euro in trading on the Moscow Exchange on September 29. The dollar gained 32 kopecks against the ruble to a record high of 39.50 rubles to the dollar as of 11:30 Moscow time, while the euro went over the 50-ruble mark to 50.13 rubles to the euro

USD is now at 43 rubles.

    Putin's Empire is crashing.

You worry about the Putin Empire more than the Russian patriots. Which are indifferent what going on with ruble.
Because they very well understand - there would be no events in Ukraine, the West would think up other dirty trick for Russia. Preparation of the western negative promotion against Russia began before to events in Ukraine. (you remember the rights of gays,Magnitsky, defenders Greenpeace etc.)

After 25 years after disorder of the USSR - Russia could raise the voice on the international scene, raise the status of the military power, and along with other new powers, such as China, India, Brazil to pursue policy of creation of the multipolar world.

Such policy of the multipolar world doesn't suit the USA. The USA aspire that the modern world — was unipolar, and the order in it is established by the USA and their some European footmen. But such existing world order as shows historical experiment, can lead to a war.

Russia well knows it on the historical experience. Russia was the participant of two world wars and therefore now actively opposes the unipolar world in which the empire and dollar govern.

Many politicians and experts speak - for the United States war is the only opportunity to prevent disorder of the international financial system based on dollar.
Exactly on this matter contradictions between the USA, the European allies and the developing powers, including Russia are most brightly shown.:unclesam:

Ruble is still 3x more valuable than the Yen which is meaningless in a fiat currency because all the value of such a currency means is how easy it is to export or import.

No one says the 110Yen per 1 USD is a collapsing currency.

It just means that Japan has that much more export advantage than the US.

All a lower valued Ruble accomplishes is better export potential and domestic demand for domestic investment.

I long argue a sanction is the best way to ensure your enemy is competent in all economic sectors.

If you want to destroy your enemy flood your enemy with cheap everything until the only thing your enemy is left making is peanuts.
