Looking far ahead, perhaps China will decide to scrap the Sino-Soviet Border Agreement just for the hell of it and start trouble by occupying some Russian border territory that's always been in dispute-
WIKI- "The Sino-Soviet border conflict was a seven-month undeclared military conflict between the Soviet Union and China at the height of the Sino-Soviet split in 1969. Although military clashes ceased that year, the underlying issues were not resolved until the 1991 Sino-Soviet Border Agreement."

Russia is slumping back into a coldwar economic and diplomatic position, the arrogance of it's dictator and reluctance to give an inch on Crimea and eastern Ukraine is driving the wedge deeper between Europe, America and Russia. To top it off many are now realising the scale of deceit and vindictiveness of the Russian campaign on the internet, most people take this quite personally as opposed to Russia, westerners think of the internet as "theirs" not government owned. Russia's determination to take away/manipulate our freedom of speech hits right at the heart of what we stand for. Sympathy from many people in different countries are and will continue to dwindle down to a trickle.

Oh man do I wholeheartedly disagree with that.

They may have a bit more technical problems than the US has but it really isn't that big a difference, especially if you consider the money spent by both countries.

Russia does an AMAZING job at creating mobile systems of all kinds, much better than what we have in some cases

What does that have to do with Russia's mobile systems?

My father was a special forces Marine in Vietnam, trust me, I am extremely proud of our military and the weapons our civilians create for it.

But to completely say Russia has garbage systems is a complete farce. I am as upset with Putin as the next guy but it does no good to disrespect even those you see as your enemies. Gotta call a spade a spade and there are plenty of Russian systems (especially missiles) that I would love to incorporate into our military.

    My two cents

Ahhhhh now I get it, sorry.

You are saying that Russians systems are bad because we had Tomahawks fly right over them.

So you really think it would be smart of Russia to attack US missiles systems? Really?

That is like questioning why we don't shoot down the Russian jets in that same circle (theater)

Have you been to Russia? The Troll Army is nowhere near a good representative of the typical Russian, most of them hate Putin just as much as we do from talking with them

Might be high tech but when you don't maintain your equipment or have spare parts what good is technology? We too do not have the money to maintain our fighting forces and the weapons they need to defend themselves. Report today say's an Audit in Iraq shows we lost over 1 billion in military equipment in 2016. waste not; want not.

I believe Putin hijacked Russia's modernisation, he is steering them directly in conflict with the rest of the world. One man's views condemning an entire nation.
