70 tons of grain per hecktare. "Farmer" my ass.

Also, if you haven't noticed, let me illustrate you, with a picture, where goes Grainy and where goes Frosty:

The blue areas - are zones of soil being frozen either majority of year, or permanently, either due to exposure to air currents from Arctic, or due to being mountines.

The green area - is where majority of grain comes from, it is easy to spot on Google maps by it being all divided in fields where grain grows, while further to north you'll notice a significant change in landscape, with majority of ground being occupied with forests.

Nobody grows wheat in Murmansk, and nobody tries to grow oats in Yakutsk, it is not why people live there.

...so why, exactly, are we speaking of "window of opportunity" for latitudes of France, states of Montana and Minnesota, and North China? Oh, and Ukraine..?

And also: "70 tonns per hecktar".

And as matter of fact - the Russo-Turkish wars lasted less than wars between England and France - and oddly enough english and french get along, after the centuries of almost constant competition. We're in XXI century, and now have better concerns that quarelling for sake of whatever excused deaths of thousands turks, russians and other people who both empires in XVI-XIX centuries.

Unlike some people - we go into future, instead of trying to bring back the past.

Again, statistics work with average numbers. While, unlike the many other countries on the globe, Federation has a very vast territory, with vast diversity of climate zones, with, obviously, different harvests from region to region. Average number will always be lower, when compared to more compact country with a mild climate, basically just because some parts of Federation have less fertile soil and good conditions for crops.

But if we compare the statistic of the number of, for example, wheat produced as a whole per country...
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_wheat_production_statistics

...we will see, that Federation, despite having averagely cooler climate, than for example USA, as well as having population of only 148 millions against that of 325 millions in USA produces relatively same amount of grain, despite the, I assume, presumed differences in technologies - considering some people there view my nation as outdated barbarians.

Federation produces less wheat that Union, but more than any country of Union taken alone. Even the most productive of them are still way behind the Federation, that on top of that still posesses free, uncultivated land, that with development of genetic modification of plants could be cultivated with new cultures.

So indeed, we are not just able to feed ourselves - we are among leaders in amount of grain exported.

De facto, last year Federation was second after Union in grain export, while States were third:

Great Britain also thought in 19th century that British Pound would be a world currency forever, but then USD came in the middle of 20th century. Do not worry, soon Chinese Yuan will be the world currency and USD will be in the place, where it should be- in the toilet.

There is nothing valuable that is produced in the US that you can find in the market. Everything is produced in China.

Lol... Litwin, these got nothing to do with current situation in Syria. We have a very effective diplomatic relationship with Russia. It is so deep that both sides deliver messages and make their points over "ethnic" problems. You missed it, so let me remind you, there is PKK office in Moscow. We supported Chechnians, Circassians they supported PKK, PYD. We cut deals with Kiev, they partner up with Armenia. Yet we have tons of trade, energy and defense agreements and moreover see each other as strategic partners. How come? Because both sides MUST act by their "local" geopolitical laws. If they ignore those crucial laws, they lose ground. We know this, they know this, so no problem. We'll get along better once we convince them in Syria and believe me, we will :)

Litwin, apparently you miss critical thinking. "Population is 132million, 60% are old people, children etc" Therefore, 40% are those who can work. That is more than 50 million. Tell us the secret where did you get 20 million people of working age?

We talk about the currency and not about SU. As I said, Brits also thought that GPB would be a world currency forever.
